Today on “gear we love”, the nowadays blue whale favorite compressor, this LA2A clone from the fellows
This full tube opto compressor is soooo good on vocals, guitars, kick drum, is very limited knobs-wise yet super flexible depending on the source!

Not much to say about this legend. The Roland Space Echo RE-201 is probably one of the most used tape delays in the last few decades. It is by far one of the pieces of gear that has shaped the sound of Blue Whale Recordings and
We simply can’t get enough of them!

In love with cheap clones. This is a lovely tube equalizer form . It works amazingly well and gives a super nice and warm sound to everything you put it on!

One of our most underrated pieces if gear, the Sansui RA-500 reverberation amplifier is a very cool spring reverb, quite extreme and bold on what it does! Very cool for surf and west-coast-inspired music!

One if the most beloved mics in our collection, a ELM251 knock off-ish by the wonderful company 3U Audio. This is called “The Warbler MKIV” and it’s got a really nice and warm character, vocals sound like peanut butter, as drum overheads they are really cristal clear, they’re actually great on anything. Give ‘em a go if you can!

And finally! We got the pleasure and honor to have “inherited” a 16 track 1” Tascam tape recorder! It’s a great sounding machines with plenty of channels to go nuts! Wanna record endles (well, 16...) overdubs with tape mojo? (Psss, used to use the same model for a bunch of their records!)
