“Jala” means “bring your people together” in local slang from the outskirts of Mexico City, where Berlin based rapper originates from. It's also the title of today's debut single together with multi-instrumentalist .st3fano

To get the project to where it is now they for sure brought their people together and eventually worked with producer prodigy to elevate their sound to the next level. Big props also to the sonic savant .flac for the superb mastering of this tune.

“Jala” is just the beginning for the two of them as they have a full EP lined up for mid August and also aspire to bring their sound to the stage, so stay tuned.

"'Paisa' is short slang for Paisano, which nowadays just means from the same place as the person who speaks, highly contextual, often used in negative, sometimes in a positive sense. Do25inco plays with its connotation on his 3 track EP, while he shows solidarity with other Paisanxs that live a life abroad. Coming from Mexico City, a place struck by poverty, violence and drugs to Berlin, a city with more opportunities, he is trying to reflect on the past and describing a new chapter of his life that he has grown into."

"Fast music - in terms of the usual bpm and the way we created these songs...staying away from sampling we used the machines around us, trying to create tracks for the floor within a few hours. This time using our own voice instead of chopping vocalsamples of others we came up with a hymn for worlds most known piece of furniture, the Monobloc."

Spotlight Artist: MARAP / / Hamburg

Solidarität ist der Schlüssel - Solidarity is the key! Asmara "MARAP" Habtezion is a rapper and founding member of the association Asmaras World e.V., whose mission is to help people who had to flee. Vincent, Philip and Paula visited Asmara in Hamburg, where they made music and talked about her work.

Vincent Bababoutilabo's debut album "Rosa Shakur" comes at the end of a 10-year period in Leipzig, Germany. A time full of love, partying and politics. This is a record dedicated to all the people Vincent crossed path with during his time in this city. Long nights in an Underground Café, chaotic, loving life in a community house, strenuous, fun touring with bands and anti-racist organising. Thank you everyone.

Diese Platte ist all den Menschen gewidmet, die Vincent während seiner Zeit in dieser Stadt kennengelernt hat. Lange Nächte in einem Underground Café, chaotisches, liebevolles Leben in einem Gemeinschaftshaus, anstrengendes, lustiges Touren mit Bands und antirassistisches Organisieren. Danke an alle.
