Named after mostro, the Italian word for monster, this sportive shoe appears almost otherworldly with its spiky, a bit alien-like sole and asymmetrical strap closure. A quarter decade after inventing the Mostro in 1999, .de browsed a bit in its archives and revived it to bring it back to the world’s streets. Years after its initial launch it is once again the talk of the town: as knee-high boots for women in black and white or as sneakers in various color
options.

“I thought a structured top would complement the shape of the Mostro nicely, and right now, I’m really into leather gloves with cut-off fingertips,” said before attending the Lueder show. Also, Toni Dreher () and Maureen Adim ()wore the .de Mostro, both happy to wear sneakers at Berlin Fashion Week after high heels were the norm at Copenhagen’s Fashion Week a few days earlier. At the historic Fichtebunker, where the Richert Beil show took place, their outfits reflected the dark, dramatic aesthetic of the location. Combined with the Mostro sneakers, they created laid-back streetstyles, that work just as well for Fashion Week as they do for everyday.

THE PUMA MOSTRO TOOK OVER BERLIN FASHION WEEK–THIS IS HOW IT LOOKED ON THE RUNWAY!

A weekend full of turbulent events, surprising shows, and international guests–that was this year’s Berlin Fashion Week. And amidst all the hustle and bustle, one shoe completed the runway looks of the three Berlin-based brands , .lueder, and while drawing all eyes to it: the .de Mostro.
Designer Marie Lueder and her eponymous fashion brand have collected many fans from Berlin and beyond who love her for her eccentric designs inspired by medieval armor. At her runway show, the garments seem to be shields, protecting the people who wear them, and the Puma Mostro’s silhouette seamlessly complemented the structured garments and expressive shapes on the runway.
The GmbH runway show was definitely one of the highlights of this year’s Berlin Fashion Week. While having an overall elegant and sophisticated
aesthetic, some looks had a subtle sporty touch, with the Puma Mostro peeking out from beneath wide-legged trousers.
At Richert Beil’s show MUTTER, the Mostro softened the clean, straight lines of the clothing and subtly added a touch of structure to the looks that
consisted of heavy fabrics and latex.

This mutual decision marks the end of an extraordinary chapter, one that has been pivotal in defining the identity and success of our publications. Sina Braetz’s visionary work has left an indelible mark on the magazines and industry she has so passionately shaped.

We extend our deepest thanks to Sina for her invaluable contributions, her creative vision, and her years of dedication.

Georges Aperghis and Hans Ulrich Obrist need no introduction, at least not within the space available here. Aperghis, born in Greece in 1945, is best known for his ex- perimental compositions and for pioneering the genre of musical theater, where sound, image, and text intersect. He is one of the few composers who have managed to avoid being categorized or confined to a single style.
In this conversation with Hans Ulrich Obrist, Aperghis shares his journey from painting to music and his unique approach to sound cre- ation. They discuss early influences, such as classical music and his collaborations with artists like Iannis Xenakis, which helped shape his thinking. Aperghis also explains his concept of “mental theater,” where the audience plays a key role in imagining the story, and how resistance, chance, and energy are central themes in his music.

Ukrainian multidisciplinary artist Julia Beliaeva explores the impermanence of reality through various media, including digital sculptures, painting, porcelain, 3D scanning, and virtual reality. Her work addresses the fragile nature of existence, referencing Ukraine’s history and uncovering hidden traumas. Rather than numbing generational pain, Beliaeva confronts it to create freedom and healing.
By using herself as an object in her work, she separates personal identity from events, allowing them to take on a life of their own. She emphasizes the importance of turning uncomfortable conversations into a new status quo, while striving to humanize digital art. Her journey reflects the balance between beauty, terror, and its roots.
