Based on the real-life experiences of a school friend of co-director Pola Beck (Druck), Westend Girl follows Ronja, played by .zengel.official Helena Zengel (System Crasher), whose life is turned upside down when her parents, operators of a lucrative co***ne ring, are sent to prison. Suddenly stripped of stability, trust, and normality, she is forced to step into the family business herself. As she dives deeper into a world she barely understands, the lines between right and wrong, loyalty and betrayal, legal and illegal begin to blur.

The world premiere of received thunderous ovations at SERIENCAMP FESTIVAL on Wednesday. A socially conscious superhero story with migrant protagonists, sharp humor, and a bold contemporary perspective – something rarely seen in German television.

Following the success of their rap-musical series Hype, Esra and Patrick Phul once again push genre boundaries. This time, they take on the superhero genre and turn it into something entirely unexpected.

When Malik Kebir Sargin + FUNDA BOSTANLIK Dina, and Hamza gain superpowers through a mysterious artifact, they are suddenly faced with much more than the mission of rescuing children abducted from their neighborhood. They must navigate a society shaped by racism, misinformation, social media algorithms, and deep social divisions that push them—and people like them—to the margins.

All Heroes Are Bastards brings the superhero genre closer to reality than we might like. Blending personal stories with broader social tensions, the series lives somewhere between Misfits, Extraordinary, and The Boys—while establishing a unique voice all its own.
