today we release BLUE — is a collaborative album between Pavel Milyakov / buttechno and Kyiv-based singer and artist Yana Pavlova. Seven pieces compiled of minimalistic guitar loops, sax (including recordings by Alex Zhang Hungtai), dubby bass guitar (including one loop from Son Acido forthcoming release) and shadowy Yana’s vocals. Mic noises, clicks and other sonic imperfections are a natural part of these tracks, as they are all composed with the use of random and unpredictable Pure Data algorithms, purely improvised. Perfect soundtrack for these troubled summer days (and nights). There are limited number of CD’s available via our bandcamp page, Stellage record store and Closer Record Store.

Today we announce our transfiguration into the “PSY X records” — a new incarnation, aimed to release multigenre sonic experiments, visual arts and moving images. We start with the “STYX” album — the result of a rather captivating alliance between Pavel Milyakov and Alex Zhang Hungtai , a Taiwanese-born musician who is known both for his solo works and multiple collaborations including those with Xiu Xiu, Loke Rahbek and Dedekind Cut. The range of tools at the duo's disposal spans field recordings, synthesized elements and a wide range of acoustic instruments, from guitar to saxophone and organ, all processed through bizarre warping algorithms. Investigating their instruments' natural resonant frequencies and playing with advanced sampling techniques, Alex and Pavel create highly unpredictable, perplexing yet extremely appealing electro-acoustic enigmas.
