The quintessential post-modern artist, Cindy Sherman, whose work has explored the creation of identity for almost five decades, is the recipient of a major retrospective at the Vancouver Art Gallery. With works ranging from her iconic Untitled Film Stills series of the late '70's to new works on display for the first time, this is a show worthy of repeat viewings. Now to March 8.

MUTEK Montréal celebrates its 20th anniversary with old friends and new. Reggie Watts & John Tejada team up as Wajatta for what is certain to be a festival highlight, the legendary Gudrun Gut makes an early evening appearance, and festival favorite Tim Hecker brings a new collaborative work with Japan's Konoya Ensemble.
