This spring, together with we will build the first Exile Media Hub for displaced journalists and media makers in Athens, Greece 🇬🇷.

The project aims to support exiled media professionals including:
✍️ Writers, photographers, or video journalists
🎥 Podcasters, film makers, or bloggers
📻 Individuals interested in becoming media makers of different kinds

The hub is an inclusive and welcoming space for displaced media professionals to continue working, networking, and making their voices heard.

With a a skill-sharing approach we encourage experienced media makers to pass on their knowledge and skills to other peers, fostering growth and collaboration.

📣 Now we need you! To make this project a reality, we need equipment such as microphones, cameras 📷, laptops and tablets, as well as a dedicated workspace. We rely on individual donations that go directly and entirely into the project. 💶

“When I first saw Mariupol, I couldn't believe my eyes. Some buildings looked just like those in Kyiv, and I imagined that this could have been my home: completely burned and deserted”, explains Nikita Holovynskyi, a MiCT Fellow from Ukraine.

On this second day commemorating three years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, we highlight the resilience and work of the Fellow Nikita Holovynskyi, who has created an interactive map 📍🗺️ of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol. This powerful digital project compiles media data, personal stories, videos, and images of more than 900 buildings 🏢, preserving the history of a city under siege.

"The Fellowship has given me the support—both in resources and funding—to keep developing this project," Nikita explains. His mission is to continue documenting Mariupol’s reality while combining his two greatest passions: journalism and web design.

Our Sudanese MiCT colleague Aya Sammani will be presenting her book project offline, which she developed thanks to a scholarship from the Martin Roth Initiative.

“Untold Stories” is a collection of photo and text essays by Sudanese artists, including Ala Kheir, a jury member for the 2025 World Press Photo, and designer Sally Elgizouli.

The door to the MiCT Roof above Weinbergspark (Brunnenstraße 9, 10119 Berlin-Mitte) opens at 6 PM.
