We are super happy to annonuce the release of ´s new single, „Abaixe“!

The tune draws inspiration from the legendary flute motif of Banda de Pífanos de Caruaru, a hypnotic fragment of Northeastern Brazilian folklore that recently reached new audiences through Kleber Mendonça Filho’s film The Secret Agent.

The title, Portuguese for “get down” or “go lower,” captures the track’s dancefloor spirit: a call to crouch low before the beat sends the crowd skyward.

For his version, Daniel took the traditional theme into tropical sound system territory. Heavy sub-bass, rolling percussion and cinematic drums meet haunting female choir vocals and baile funk-inspired horns, transforming the raw pífano melody into a euphoric club anthem. The flute parts are performed by Ori Kaplan of Balkan Beat Box, adding another layer of cross-cultural exchange.

Rooted in Pernambuco tradition yet built for peak-time dancefloors, “Abaixe” bridges folk ritual and modern club energy in unmistakable Haaksman style. This will be heard on many festivals to come!
