It’s a violent playground! Few know that when two of the boys from Chelmsford, Douglas McCarthy and Bon Harris, met the even wilder troublemakers Simon Granger and David Gooday in their neighborhood, that’s when it all started. It began a bit rough, a bit awkward — the way things can be when you’re around 15 and shouting at each other from opposite sides of the street — but they traded words and eventually met. It was there, and during the walk back to Simon’s house and his synthesizer, that the original version of Nitzer Ebb was formed.
Simon had an EDP Wasp at home, and it was on that very synth that all the magical sounds that shaped the music world began to take form. Time passed, and Simon and David didn’t want to be in the international spotlight like Douglas and Bon. But the graphics. All that iconic artwork associated with Nitzer Ebb — that was Simon’s work. Both he and David have always pulled the strings behind the public face of Nitzer Ebb. They are the engine behind the legendary. The ones who are the foundation and future of it all.
It is STARK.
