𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬 🫓

If you gather with Greek people these days or if you celebrate Orthodox Easter, you have to make these delicious Pitas!
My favourite Pita bread recipe is here for you, perfect for every celebration and especially for Easter lunch & dinner!
Ingredients:
320 ml lukewarm vegan milk
160ml lukewarm water
10g fresh yeast
1 tbsp sugar
2-3 tbsps olive oil
640g flour for bread (Type 550)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp powdered anise
2 tbsps Thyme by
Olive oil for frying
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, place the vegan milk, water, yeast, sugar and olive oil and let it increase for some minutes.
2. In an another large bowl add together the remaining ingredients: flour, salt, anise and thyme.
3. When the first mixture is double in size, place it into the mixture with flour and mix well until become a soft, shiny, non sticky dough.
4. Then, cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and leave to rest from 30 mins until 1 hour, glaze the dough with olive oil.
5. Heat up with olive oil a non-stick pan at medium temperature. Then open the pitas with your hands or with a wooden pin and fry them for 2-3 mins on both sides. You will have about 12 pitas! Enjoy!
6. Serve with extra olive oil thyme and tzatziki! The best side for your Easter lamb and Greek salat!
