What an overwhelming year! Eight releases, two collabs, ten tracks. My most musically productive year so far. I had reached a bunch of new listeners, I’ve picked up a couple new skills, and gained a couple of new connections. Thank you all for sticking with me!
What else has this year brought? Started writing release-worthy songs; started to perform my songs live. This is the part that is still mind boggling to me, but this is where we’re at, I guess!
And all that while working full-time, getting used to life in a new — still — country, and learning the language every day (got B1 in German and super proud of it). Somehow I still have my sanity (although barely) and my health with me.
In 2025, I want to write and release even more music. I will take even more care of myself, and I will keep track of what’s actually important to me: my little soundtracks, my singing voice, my songs, my band. But also my family and my new home, which is beginning to feel like it, at last. How will I balance all that? No idea, but I’ll give my absolute best, as I always do 🤩

My new track "dust" is released on all streaming platforms!

Dark and melancholic, the haunting piano melody in “dust” tells a story of things long forgotten. An ancient attic, shrouded in cobwebs—what secrets does it hold? What do the artefacts covered in dust have to tell of their past lives?
The gloomy ambiance, slightly out-of-tune piano, and mournful synth melody define “dust” as a cinematically atmospheric piece full of curiosity, frightening echoes, and a vast sea of sorrow—a perfect soundtrack for a yet-to-be-made indie horror movie.

It finally happened!

“Sea of granite” is the new EP by Berlin-based composer Masha Klimkina, who goes by the stage name 0190.

“Smell of smoke and sap, soft carpet of spruce needles, and weathered, ancient mountains. These are the things that define and influence me.

I grew up in the mountains. They weren’t huge and impressive. Rather old and small, actually, overgrown by taiga that had seen the dawn of civilization and bearing memories of incredible creatures from when the entire area was covered by water.

I could never comprehend how old our world actually is. And so, this is what ‘sea of granite’ is about: time, and witnessing eternity crumbling away.”

Nostalgic, melancholic, curious. Not quite ambient, not quite neo-classical. Inspired by minimalistic piano melodies but not actually using the sound of a piano, the track is wrapped in layers of synth pads. Released as the main part of a triptych, it is filled with soft, repetitive motion that eventually develops into an intense, penetrating orchestral climax, which is interrupted abruptly by a soft, curious motif that leads the listener into the next track — “departure.”

“Sea of granite,” as an EP, is a nod of respect to large orchestral forms and multi-part pieces of the old classical world, reimagined and shaped to fit into the modern reality of social media formats and shortened attention spans.
