American Terror is divided into 70 propositions, each followed by an explicatory corollary that unravels the notion posed in the proposition. The individual propositions serve as prisms by which foundational constructs of contemporary political being, shared political theory and emerging collectivity is viewed, challenged and ultimately understood.

Some of our favorite include Proposition 14. On the self-evident truth that the revolution is always possible; Proposition 27. On the organisation of the Revolutionary Act; Proposition 51. On the Revolutionary Street’s exhaustion with political violence.

The 70 propositions and their subsequent corollaries form the foundation of a worldview that crystallises in the closing section of the book, the Glossary of Entitlement, where Zahreddine unpacks the terminologies that make up a revolutionary status.
