EMS Press is heading to OASPA 2026 in Zagreb. 👋

The annual conference of the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA) brings together the open scholarly communication community to exchange ideas and explore some of the major questions shaping the future of open access. This year’s conference takes place in Zagreb, Croatia, from 21–23 September.

Laura Simonite, Head of Business Development at EMS Press, will be joining the conference from Tuesday, and on Wednesday she’ll take part in the Poster Lightning Talk session with:

🎤 Launch to Open: Shared Risk, Collective Benefit
📅 Wednesday 23 September
🕛 11.55 am–12.40 pm

The talk introduces Launch to Open, a new model being piloted by EMS Press that explores how transparent journal finances and collective library support can help established journals move towards sustainable open access.

If you’re at , come and find Laura and join the conversation. We’re looking forward to discussing what community-led approaches to scholarly publishing can look like in practice.

Bellman Functions on Simple Non-Convex Domains in the Plane

By Paata Ivanisvili, Dmitriy Stolyarov, Vasily Vasyunin and Pavel Zatitskii

Published in the Memoirs of the European Mathematical Society, this new volume develops Bellman function methods for integral functionals on BMO and related function classes.

The authors describe an algorithm for constructing minimal locally concave functions on certain planar non-convex domains, leading to sharp estimates for classes such as BMO, Muckenhoupt classes and Gehring classes.

Triangulation, Persistence, and Fukaya Categories

By Paul Biran, Octav Cornea, and Jun Zhang

This new monograph introduces triangulated persistence categories, a framework connecting ideas from persistence theory with triangulated categories.

The authors apply this perspective to Fukaya categories and symplectic geometry, with connections to Lagrangian submanifolds, Floer theory, and rigidity phenomena.

Isoperimetric Inequalities, Brunn–Minkowski Theory and Minkowski-Type Monge–Ampère Equations on the Sphere

By Károly J. Böröczky, Alessio Figalli and João P. G. Ramos

This new monograph explores deep connections between convex geometry, geometric inequalities, analysis, and partial differential equations.

Starting from classical results such as the isoperimetric and Brunn–Minkowski inequalities, the book develops a broad framework linking volume, surface area, curvature, functional inequalities, and Monge–Ampère equations on the sphere.
