Enough Is Enough — A Cry for Justice in Nigeria
By Cyril Agbota
Every day in Nigeria, the people live in fear—not just from criminals, but from the very people who are supposed to protect them.
Our police and military—meant to be defenders of peace—have become symbols of corruption, abuse, and impunity.
We are harassed at checkpoints.
We are extorted in broad daylight.
We are brutalized without reason.
We are killed, and nothing happens.
The movement gave us hope—but that hope was crushed. Promises were made, but nothing changed. In fact, things have gotten worse. The same SARS officers returned in different uniforms. The same military that swore to protect the people opened fire on unarmed youth at Lekki.
Today, both the police and army:
Demand bribes, not justice.
Serve the rich, not the people.
Cover up crimes, instead of preventing them.
Silence the helpless, instead of defending them.
This is not law enforcement. This is oppression wearing a uniform.
🗣️ To the Leaders:
You are watching your own people suffer. You shake hands with generals who spill innocent blood. You protect the corrupt and punish the brave.
Enough is enough.
✊🏾 To the People:
We must not give up.
We must continue to speak out.
We must protect each other where the system fails us.
We are not animals.
We are not weak.
We are Nigerians—and we will rise.
