Our journey with Coworkies has always been, at its core, a journey of people. The ones who make coworking come alive.
Many of them rarely get the spotlight they deserve.
That’s why we are launching ‘Communitea’, a series to pause, pour a cup, and cheer for the people who make community work feel real.

And we couldn’t think of a better person to start with than .

Matt might not expect a post like this, but oh, he deserves it.

At Coworkies, we’ve always been fascinated by how people grow in coworking.
And Matt is one of the clearest, most heartwarming examples of that growth in motion.

We met him through Alex Young, who beautifully leads .
At the time, he was Area Community Manager, bringing people and places together with ease: a mix of calm, humor, and detail that made every interaction feel human.

We later had the joy of interviewing him for our blog, curious to unpack what makes a great community leader.

Then he came to our retreat in Marrakech
And this September, he joined COMS.

Each encounter with Matt has been like a good cup of tea: warm, steady, and exactly what the moment needed.
He brings quiet confidence, deep care, and the rare ability to make any room feel a little lighter.

Today, as Head of Sales at Projects, Matt continues to pour those same community instincts into everything he does.

Because here’s the thing: community skills do translate.
The way you greet someone.
The way you notice what they need.
The way you lead with curiosity instead of ego.
That’s what makes the difference, and that’s exactly who Matt is.

So here’s to Matt, for growing, giving, and leading in a way that reminds us why we do what we do.
And here’s to the quiet celebrations, the tea-break kind, that keep community alive.

More Communitea to come ☕️

🧾 Open Ticket #002: The Printer 🖨️

Filed by: You
Category: Office / Tech Rage
Status: Quietly testing your patience

You know the moment:
Coffee in hand, ready to start the day…
and then:

“Hey, um, can you help me connect to the printer?”

You’ve made the guide.
You’ve taped it right next to the printer.
You even printed it… on the very same printer.

And yet, here you are...
explaining it again.

This isn’t really about printers.
It’s about invisible systems that live in your head,
and the work it takes to design clarity so you don’t become the system yourself.

This is the second story in Open Tickets:
Real challenges community managers face every day.
(And what we can actually do about them.)

🧠 How do you handle printer chaos?

Midweek.

Time for a visual breather.

A moment to pause,
stretch your eyes,
and notice the beauty that surrounds us —
or sometimes hides in plain sight.

Welcome back to Coworking Moodboard,
where this week, we invite you to speak the language of color. 🎨

Close your eyes and imagine these spaces… completely white.
The hum quiets. The energy shifts.
The experience changes.

Color is more than design; it’s a language.
It tells us how to feel, how to behave, how to work.

🍋 Yellow invites curiosity and play, perfect for sparking new ideas.
🌊 Blue grounds and soothes, creating space for deep focus.
🍊 Reds and oranges bring warmth and connection, drawing people together.
💜 Purples hold a quiet intensity, sharpening flow and concentration.

Every shade carries a message.
Every palette sets the tone for how a space is lived in, not just seen.

When used with intention, color can also create inclusion:
a calm corner for someone who feels overstimulated,
a vibrant area that energizes a team,
spaces that welcome different workstyles — and different minds.

Today’s scroll celebrates spaces fluent in the language of color,
designing not just for beauty, but for experience.

✦ Collected, not created
✦ Pretty for the eyes
✦ Inspo for your next palette, layout, or mood shift

Save for later.
Pause for a moment.
Notice how color moves you. ✨

JUST DO IT.

Three words we kept repeating to ourselves when COMS was still just a wild idea on a Google Doc.

On September 4th, forty community managers from across Europe (and beyond!) came together for a full day dedicated to their craft: the art and heart of building communities in coworking spaces.

We laughed, we cried, we learned, and together, we shaped something that felt bigger than all of us.

This picture captures the moment we finally exhaled. A moment of collective energy, joy, and pride for what we’d built, together.

COMS is proof of what happens when you bet on community managers.

Thank you to everyone who trusted us, traveled, participated, and showed up fully. This is just the beginning. 🌱

Brighton, then and now.
A city shaped by stories.

Of gathering, of expression, of community.
For decades, people have come here to pause, reflect, and reset.

On September 4th, we’re continuing that tradition,
But with a future-focused lens.

COMS – The Community Managers Summit isn’t a throwback.
It’s a leap forward.

A space for those shaping the soul of workspaces
to learn from the past,
share what’s working now,
and build what’s next, together.

This is not just a summit.
It’s a collective step toward more intentional, human-centered ways of working.
Rooted in experience. Powered by community.

Brighton is the backdrop.
The future of community is the conversation.

💙 What if one gathering could shift how you lead, listen, and build community?

In 30 days, we’re bringing together a room full of people who get it.
The invisible labor.
The moments that don’t make the metrics.
The craft of creating spaces that feel like something more.

It’s not a conference.
It’s not a stage.
It’s a shared table for community managers, ops leads, and experience designers who want to grow together.

🐠 If you’ve ever felt like the only one thinking deeply about the “people stuff” in your space…
🐬 If you’re ready to reconnect with the why behind your work…
🐟 If you want to walk away with tools, insights, and friends you’ll carry long after the name tags come off…

Come to COMS.

📍 Manchester, a space that doesn’t just look good, it feels good.

Behind this beautifully designed space is a team led by General Manager James Panepinto (), whose hospitality roots run deep. From managing pizza kitchens to launching coworking brands, James brings a service-first mindset to every square meter of this space.

In our latest interview, he shares what it really means to be a GM in one of the UK’s most competitive coworking markets, and why the product isn’t a desk. It’s the team. The touchpoints. The moments of connection.

“Coworking is a hospitality product.”

That’s how James Panepinto, General Manager at Manchester, sees it.

Yes, there are desks. But what truly sets a space apart is the experience, the energy, the community.
It’s the micro-moments, the “good mornings,” the last-minute coffees, the quiet “we believe in you” that shape the member journey.

In the latest edition of The Coworking Career Chronicles, we sit down with James to explore what being a GM really means (spoiler: it’s not all spreadsheets and KPIs).

👇 Head to Coworkies.com/blog to read the full interview and explore more coworking career stories.

Behind every thriving coworking space is a General Manager making magic behind the scenes, and James Panepinto () is one of the best in the game.

From pizza chef to GM at Manchester, James’ journey is anything but typical. With a hospitality-first mindset and a talent for building tight-knit teams, he’s redefining what it means to lead in the world of coworking.

📈 97% occupancy
🎉 25+ events/month
💡 1 mini-golf course (yes, really)

In our latest edition of The Coworking Career Chronicles, James shares what it really takes to run a space:
- resilience
- adaptability
- knowing when to step back, and when to jump in.

This one’s for the doers, the planners, and the calmest person in the room when the lightbulbs need changing and the coffee runs out.

Somewhere between the rooftop light, the delicious Moroccan tea, and the deep conversation. This is what community looks like when the ones who care for others finally get to feel cared for, too.

At COMS, we don’t just talk about community.
We design for it with every retreat, every detail, every shared moment.

This photo? It’s from our second retreat in Marrakech.
No stage, no script, just space for real connection to happen.

✨ If you’re a community manager craving more of this, join us in Brighton on September 4th.

At our first retreat, we made a conscious choice:
to slow things down.

No stacked schedule. No pressure to perform.
Just time to arrive, exhale, and be in the room, fully.

This photo holds that energy.
A group of community managers, not “networking” but actually connecting.
Not filling time, but allowing something real to emerge.

That’s the kind of atmosphere we’re bringing into COMS:
Spacious, thoughtful, and shaped by the people in the room.
Because when the pace softens, the work deepens.

This picture was taken during our very first community managers retreat in Crete.

And while the setting suggests vacay,
it held space for what we rarely say (and even what we’ve had to unsay.)

This captured moment?
It’s two community managers ( )
sharing stories, asking each other questions, and thinking out loud, poolside.

Whether it’s at a retreat or at the summit, we design experiences that feel human. Participative. Spacious.
Because when you bring together people who hold space for others every day, magic happens, if you give them the time to breathe, think, and connect.

There are 10 tickets left to COMS, join the magic. Let’s COMS together.
