Don't tie your healing to the hope that someone will regret what they did to you.
It's easy to stay stuck, hoping that one day they will regret their actions or suffer for the pain they caused you. But that hope can keep you trapped. It can hurt you even more and delay your healing process.
Healing isn't about making them feel sorry. It isn't about waiting for an apology or watching them suffer. Healing is about taking care of yourself and choosing your own peace.
Focus on your own journey. Take the time you need to heal. Cry if you need to. Rest if you need to. Laugh when you can. Do the things that make you feel alive again. Don't tie your happiness to what someone else does or doesn't feel.
Let go of the pain they caused you, not because they deserve it, but because you deserve to be free. Your peace, your joy and your growth should never depend on someone else's regret.
Some people never regret the hurt they cause. Some never apologize. Some move on as if nothing happened. Don't allow their lack of remorse to become a prison for your future.
Your healing is yours, not theirs.
