Founded in 2010, Black Shack Recordings soon became the top adress for lovers of Rockabilly, Country, Blues and R&B music in Germany and its neighboring countries. Zwei magische Tage im Black Shack Recordings Studio mit der talentierten Ukulelen-Künstlerin Charlotte Pelgen 🎶 und unserem wohlbekannten Haus-Pianisten Sascha Kommer 🎹! Charlotte bringt die Musik der 1920er und 30er Jahre mit einer Leidenschaft zum Leben, die selten geworden ist – inspiriert von den fast vergessenen Unterhaltungsmelodien und dem Swing dieser Ära. 🎵 Ihre Hingabe gilt Songs, die nicht zu Jazzstandards wurden, aber eine ganz eigene Schönheit tragen. Gemeinsam haben sie 7 wundervolle Titel aufgenommen, die genau diesen nostalgischen Charme einfangen. ✨

Just a little throwback to the analog recording session with the fabulous Lonestar Boys two weeks ago.
These cats have been around the studio since the first days of the shack. They know our studio since the beginning and have been witness of our development to our current state over the years. Their previous bands have been recording here and put trust in Black Shack and we are very happy to have these guys back and put down some terrific tunes on our Telefunken M5A tube recorder. They know their sound very well and it’s always a pleasure to go down the road with them to make their songs sound as primitive as it gets. This is our mission!

Jerry is a longtime friend of our and has Recorded here many Times since the Opening of a Black Shack Studio in 2010.

Wie Recorded 7 tunes in 1 Day, all Analog Through our 1950s RCA BC-6A tube console, straight to tape, no compromises or overdubs, just Rock ‚n‘ Roll! I have deep respect for every musician willing to go on that journey with us, back in time, when music still was created by a bunch of guys, having fun together in a room 👊🏼

After kicking of the year at MPS Studio with the mighty Hamburg Spinners, it’s time to get back to some Authentic Rockabilly music at the Black Shack!

I am delighted to welcome Mickey Keller & The Spitfires this week. We’ll be doing a fully analogue production with the guys using only tube gear and going direct to tape. This is the way of recording we initially designed the studio for and we are thrilled to pull that off once in a while.

Really looking forward to this session and loads of fun moments with these cats!

Last November our friends from .in.mind came to produce another record here at the shack. This time featuring Paul Burkhalter on drums and Putzi on the slide guitar. This record is gonna be mixed and ready to be pressed peeps. Watch out!

As some of you might have noticed, we kept it low for some months here at the Black Shack, which is very unusual for us 😂 Well friends, the reason for all this was our most extensive project so far: the birth of our son Miro. We are over the moon and couldn’t be more thankful to be Mom & Dad to this little guy here. Our days are filled with joy and nights are sleepless, but our hearts are filled with happiness no matter how tired we are 😊

In this context we‘d also like to thank all bands and partners for their support and their trust in us. We wish y‘all wonderful holidays, time with your loved ones and some calmness in these crazy times.
