⭐Tarsila do Amaral (1886-1973) is the most famous Brazilian artist.
In 1922 she was part of the "Semana de Arte Moderna", an event that marked the start of Modernism in the country. The idea was to search for a type of art that was not a copy of European art, but a development of a style celebrating national roots.

⚡Kay Sage (1898-1963) was a Surrealist painter and poet from the USA.
Her fascinating art explores decay, ruin and loneliness themes, usually set in plain landscapes featuring architectural structures. The colour palette is mainly dark which adds to the nightmare idea.

🌻Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" is one of the most iconic paintings in Art History and you probably have seen it before. But have you seen Van Gogh painting it?
That's what Paul Gauguin depicts in his "Vincent Van Gogh Painting Sunflowers".
🎨The two artists met in Paris in 1887 and lived together for a short period in the following year when Van Gogh was in Arles. They had a complicated friendship but this time spent together was very productive for both.
