TOBIAS HAUG QUINTETT

Das Tobias Haug Quintett präsentiert sich als fest eingespielte Einheit, die ihren gemeinsamen Sound über die letzten Jahre stetig verfeinert hat. Die Kompositionen zeichnen sich durch ihre gesanglichen Melodien und eine tiefe Verbundenheit zum Hardbop und zeitgenössischen Jazz aus.
Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Albums „Awakening“ (2023, Mons Records) bringt die Band ein Programm auf die Bühne, das von lyrischen Passagen bis hin zu hochenergetischen Rhythmen reicht. Das Publikum darf sich auf ein abwechslungsreiches Programm freuen, das eine mitreißende musikalische Erfahrung verspricht.

ANDRE´ NENDZA ARCHIVE ECO

André Nendzas neues Projekt „Archive Eco“ beschäftigt sich mit Neubetrachtungen seiner
Kompositionen. Der Bassist und Komponist ist ein beständiger Schreiber und so sammelten
sich in den letzten dreißig Jahren eine Vielzahl von Stücken an. Viele schienen mit
bestimmten – irgendwann nicht mehr aktiven – Ensembles verbunden, andere wurden um
die Veröffentlichung eines Albums gerne und viel gespielt.
Und verschwanden dann in Ordnern und auf Festplatten.
Doch warum sollen diese Stücke im Archiv verstauben!?
Mit dieser Frage entstand die Idee, mit einem neuen Projekt verschiedene Stücke aus
Nendzas Vergangenheit in die Gegenwart zu holen und ihnen neues Leben einzuhauchen.
Neugestaltet, geht es hier nicht um eine reproduzierende Werkschau, sondern um den
vitalen Ausgangspunkt einer musikalischen Reise.
Für die Ausgestaltung dieser Idee konnte André Nendza mit Jörg Kaufmann, Martin Schulte
und Ralf Gessler drei wunderbare Musiker gewinnen, welche bei „Archive Eco“ erstmals bei
einem eigenen Projekt des Bassisten mitwirken.
Und so mit unverstelltem Blick auf die Musik schauen!

BEN KRAEF/RAINER BÖHM QUARTET

Ein Stipendium ermöglichte dem Berliner Tenorsaxofonisten Ben Kraef dass er am City College in New York bei John Patitucci und Lee Konitz studieren konnte. Zudem ist er Preisträger verschiedener nationaler und internationaler Wettbewerbe (Biberacher Jazzpreis, Concours International de Jazz de Fribourg, Yamaha Saxophone Contest).
Die Liste von Jazzmusikern mit denen Ben schon die Bühne geteilt hat ist lang: Lalo Schifrin, Archie Shepp, Phil Woods, John Abercrombie, John Clayton, Fred Hersch, Gunther Schuller, Tania Maria, Jim McNeely, Peter Herbolzheimer, David Gilmore, Jeff „Tain“ Watts, James Genus, George Garzone, Herb Geller, Vincent Herring, P*e Wee Ellis, Ari Hoenig, Charles Tolliver, der Bigband des Hessischen Rundfunks und der WDR Bigband.
Sein Debutalbum ‘Berlin – New York’ erschien 2010 bei ACT. ‘Berlin – New York’ wurde in New York mit John Patitucci, Marcus Gilmore und Rainer Böhm aufgenommen. Bei Kraefs zweitem Album ‘Think of One’ (shoebill music) wirkten Jazzlegende Albert ‘Tootie’ Heath und John Patitucci mit.
Neben seinen künstlerischen Tätigkeiten unterrichtet Ben Kraef seit 2021 am Jazz Institut Berlin (Universität der Künste).
Klavier spielt an diesem Konzertabend jener Rainer Böhm mit dem Kraef sein Debutalbum aufgenommen hat. Böhm ist ein absoluter Hochkaräter in der Pianistenszene. Er ist Professor in Mannheim und Würzburg und ein gefragter Sideman. Zusammen mit dem Bassisten Henning Gailing und dem Schlagzeuger Hendrik Smock bildet er eine fulminante Rhythmusgruppe.

Jakob Dreyer Unveils His Most Personal Album Yet with Roots and Things
German-born, New York-based bassist and composer Jakob Dreyer presents Roots and Things, his third album as a leader and a compelling new chapter in his artistic journey. Released on the Fresh Sound New Talent label, the recording showcases Dreyer’s distinctive compositional voice through a vibrant program that balances hard-swinging originals, lyrical ballads, and thoughtful interludes.
For this project, Dreyer assembled an exceptional quartet featuring acclaimed vibraphonist Sasha Berliner, Grammy-winning saxophonist Tivon Pennicott, and sought-after drummer Kenn Salters. Replacing the piano with vibraphone creates a fresh, transparent sonic landscape, allowing the group’s rich interplay and improvisational chemistry to shine throughout the album.

Die Musik des Clemens Orth Trios steht für die Zusammenführung des amerikanischen Post-Bop und modern Mainstream und der europäischen Musiktradition mit den Einflüssen klassischer Musik, der Avantgarde und der Weltmusik, wobei immer der Bezug zur Jazz Tradition eine wichtige Bedeutung einnimmt. Die Musiker tragen innerhalb des Trios gleichermaßen die Verantwortung für die Musik, aus der heraus ein hohes Maß an Kreativität und Spielfreude fließt. Komposition und Improvisation verschmelzen zu einem Kaleidoskop immer neuer Muster und Eindrücke.

Die musikalische Qualität der trioesken Musik ist das Ergebnis einer einzigartigen, facettenreicher Kommunikation, die dem Trio einen unverwechelbaren Sound, fernab aller Klischees, verleiht.

The quintet led by Slovenian singer Lana Petrović is an international ensemble bringing together musicians from five European countries: Slovenia, Ireland, Italy, Germany, and Spain. Rooted in traditional jazz yet driven to forge their own artistic identity, the members have each developed independent careers. They have reunited under Lana’s vision to create a new sonic landscape. The quintet’s program explores the human inner world through a poetic approach, influenced by Balkan music. Lana draws inspiration from artists like John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, and Cécile McLorin Salvant. Her compositions focus on attention to melody and harmony that develops organically, supporting a clear message and soundscape delivered with a mature performance.

For more than two decades, Ryan Carniaux, Brendan Carniaux, Mike Roelofs, and Samuel Dühsler have been creating and performing original music together. What began in the early 2000s as a shared musical vision has evolved into a rich repertoire of more than fifty original compositions, spanning multiple recordings, countless performances, and years of artistic growth.
Some of these works have appeared on albums over the years; many remain undocumented, existing only in the memories of audiences and musicians who experienced them live.
This September, the quintet reunites for three special evenings of live recording, joined by bassist Jan Blikslager, to celebrate this remarkable body of work. Across three themed concerts, the band will revisit music from different periods of its history, uncover forgotten gems, and premiere new compositions. Expect music that is spontaneous, deeply communicative, and rooted in the shared language that can only develop after decades of playing together.
Three nights. One evolving story. A rare opportunity to hear the past, present, and future of this music captured live.
