When the demo of ‘Scorpio Rising’ landed in our office, we knew immediately: this has to be released in the summer! A hook is a hook is a hook. And what sang into the mic for is definitely a big hook with barbs that sticks in your head. A pristine pop house masterpiece from the La Mancha native. The remix by Scottish techno legend brings a deeper perspective to the mix which recalls Kompakt’s golden era sound of the 00’s and unfolds its full beauty in the early hours of the morning. We found him! About 16-18 years ago, Kompakt HQ received a demo from Japan that blew us away with its stunningly brutish take on techno... or a least that’s what we think it is. Here was an artist sporting some of the most alienated sounds and structures we ever heard and we fell in love with them. Not being shy around avantgardist workouts and such, we shelved the demo for future use, hoping for a moment in time when we’d know what to do with it. Well, that moment has arrived... The only catch? We didn‘t knew who the artist was. Now he stepped by in our to say hello… He is also playing tonight in Cologne at 20h. We will be there! xx

- Lovely Ugly Brutal World bei .space .
Am Sonntag ist die Finissage der großen Ausstellung Kompakt 500 im . Um 15Uhr führen Wolfgang Voigt (Kompakt) und Valerie Knoll (Direktorin KKV) ein letztes Mal durch die Ausstellung.

This weekend, there are two finissage events in Cologne, to which we cordially invite you. Saturday is the last day of the exhibition - Lovely Ugly Brutal World at .space.
The closing event for the major exhibition Kompakt 500 at the is on Sunday. At 3 p.m., (Kompakt) and ValerieKnoll (Director of KKV) will give a final guided tour of the exhibition.

Hi Leute,
zur Halbzeit der großen KOMPAKT 500 Ausstellung im , findet am Donnerstag den 26.06. um 19Uhr die Gesprächs Veranstaltung “Was zu sagen war” mit , moderiert von Lars Fleischmann statt, zu der wir euch herzlichst einladen.

Teil der Ausstellung ist die Fabrik Edition - eine Serie von individuellen Schallplatten Covern die diverse Künstler und Künstlerinnen aus unterschiedlichen Bereichen für Kompakt gestaltet haben. Ab Donnerstag können die Unikate in Kombination mit der exklusiven Vinyl Schallplatte Loop Kollage 1 / Wand Aus Klang sowie einer großen Auswahl der in der Ausstellung gezeigten Exponate über kompakt.fm/art erworben werden. At the halfway point of the major KOMPAKT 500 exhibition at the , we cordially invite you to the conversation event “Was zu sagen war” (what had to be said) with , moderated by Lars Fleischmann, on Thursday, June 26th at 7 p.m.

Part of the exhibition is the Fabrik Edition - a series of individual record covers designed for Kompakt by various artists from different fields. Starting Thursday, these unique pieces can be purchased via kompakt.fm/art in combination with the exclusive vinyl record Loop Kollage 1 / Wand Aus Klang (Loop Collage 1 / Wall of Sound) as well as a large selection of the exhibits shown in the exhibition.
