THE LIVING SHOWROOM at Antwerp Design Week 2026 by WOOL & WIRE (Effortless Comfort Crafted by Hand in Europe) and BENOFICE (Furniture Connaisseurs)

At The Living Showroom, Belgian craftsmanship and contemporary design come together through two standout launches. Luc Binst and Wool & Wire introduce the Antwerp rug collection, inspired by the geometric façade of the Aequor residential tower in Antwerp’s Het Eilandje district. Made by European artisans using sustainably sourced New Zealand wool and TENCEL™ lyocell, the rugs translate architectural form into soft, tactile interiors that enhance comfort and calm.

The event also presents the “Best of MillerKnoll Furniture” by Benofice. Hosted in a restored 18th-century rococo palace, the showcase features iconic pieces from the MillerKnoll family, including Knoll, Herman Miller and Muuto, alongside talks on workspace innovation and ergonomics.

URCHINA by Moooi & Studio Roderick Vos
full press release https://designspotter.com/newswire/urchina-by-moooi-studio-roderick-vos/

During Milan Design Week was the launch of the URCHINA LIGHT designed by Studio Roderick Vos for MOOOI ! Urchina Light is a floating constellation of slender carbon rods inspired by the symmetry and rhythm of sea urchins – expressive by day and atmospheric by night.

Roderick created new lighting defined by craftsmanship, material clarity and character – a design that feels intuitive, emotional and made to last.

Mimicking nature’s rhythm from the inside out, Urchina Light by Studio Roderick Vos feels less like an object and more like a living presence suspended in air. Inspired by the symmetry of sea urchins, Studio Roderick Vos translated an underwater anatomy into a floating constellation of light with slender carbon rods reaching outward, glowing gently at their tips. This creates a weightless silhouette that feels expressive by day and atmospheric by night.

As evening falls, its personality shifts: a hidden downlight adds warm function, while a soft uplight creates an ambient glow overhead. Available in four sizes and designed with modular, replaceable components, Urchina Light is made for longevity – an object that drifts between expression and atmosphere with effortless ease.

Basalt by Linteloo & Studio Roderick Vos
At Salone del Mobile Milano was the launch of the table BASALT designed by Studio Roderick Vos for LINTELOO !

BASALT is a series of 2 low tables made out of black lava stone. The legs are smoothly polished. The lava stone tabletop is cut using a high-pressure water jet, then glazed and fired. For a moment, this material – the result of volcanic force – returns to the heat that once shaped it. In the kiln, the glaze fuses with the rough surface. The result is depth, tension and a rich, expressive character. No two pieces are the same, with unpredictable variations in hue, reflection and texture.

The series is available in various heights and colours and invites layered compositions and endless combinations. Those who wish to experience the lava stone in its raw form can also opt for an unglazed version. These unique tables have been developed in collaboration with Ranieri Lava Stone — rooted in volcanic landscapes and craftsmanship. Together, the design and production process translate nature into a timeless object that continuously reveals a new look depending on the light and context.

NEW FUTURE FOSSILS by Moooi & Kilian Vos
press release https://designspotter.com/newswire/new-future-fossils-by-moooi-kilian-vos/

During Milan Design Week 2026 was the launch of the carpet collection FUTURE FOSSILS designed by Kilian Vos for Moooi. This was Kilian’s international debut and first launch with a design label !

Future Fossils imagines a world where digital life leaves behind its own archaeology.
Crafted entirely through generative CGI, a process in which each design is generated from a custom-built digital design system, this collection transforms algorithms into artifacts – fragments of imagined geology, synthetic stones shaped not by centuries, but by creative code. These are not relics of what has been, but of what might come. Each piece is a paradox: artificial yet organic, familiar yet otherworldly – imagined shapes and patterns formed by machines, yet steeped in a strangely natural language. Layers of texture evoke mineral veins, crystalline fractures, and organic flow. For Moooi, a brand that thrives between the real and the fantastical, Future Fossils embraces a new kind of archaeology – an exploration of a future not yet explored.

Materials: low pile, wool or soft yarn (3 different qualities of the same design)
Themes: Chalk (pictured), Iron, Ochre, Olivine, Slate

DATSU by Van Rossum & Vito Boox
press release https://designspotter.com/newswire/datsu-by-van-rossum-vito-boox/

VITO BOOX creates at the intersection of digital production and traditional craftsmanship. His work draws from natural processes such as growth, erosion and decay to propose a contemporary language of neo-ornamentalism, where form carries narrative and nature shapes meaning.

At Salone del Mobile Milano was the launch of VITO’s new designs for VAN ROSSUM.

The DATSU dining table translates the quiet logic of natural growth into a bold, sculptural form, where an oval top appears to rest effortless upon a central base of swelling, organic volume. Crafted in solid wood, it balances digital precision with the warmth of traditional craftsmanship, bringing a surreal yet grounded presence to the interior. A contemporary monument shaped by nature’s gentle force.

The DATSU stool distils the language of natural formation into a compact, sculptural object, its softened silhouette and fluid contours recalling matter shaped over time. Available in wood, ceramic or Terre Mêlée marble, it unites tactile richness with an almost elemental calm, blurring the boundary between functional piece and collected sculpture. Quietly expressive, with the poise of something grown rather than made.
