WITNESS by MONAD ORIGIN explores sound as a force capable of becoming physical form. At DISTILL during Berlin Art Week, sculpture, light, vibration and live image-making transform the invisible into tangible experience. Sound-generated objects, laser works and immersive installations shift between stillness and vibration, object and event. Founded by Nick Peeters and Anujin Byambaa, the Belgium-based studio translates raw sound frequencies into limited-edition furniture and sculptural forms, allowing sound waves to determine their shape. Visitors can also commission a unique artefact generated from a meaningful sound—a voice, memory or moment—creating a one-of-a-kind “personal frequency” made physical. MONAD ORIGIN has presented internationally across Europe and Dubai. DISTILL, founded by Marie Polo, offers an intimate setting where contemporary art, performance and sensory experience converge. The exhibition’s sound system is powered by HIFILORD.

Marking its 25th anniversary, Amsterdam design studio Tjep., founded by Frank Tjepkema, presents Infinite Scroll: six autonomous kinetic robots that transform the everyday gestures of scrolling, swiping and tapping into physical performance. Each robot operates a smartphone running a dedicated app, turning an unconscious digital habit into a deliberate, almost meditative ritual.

The series explores different aspects of screen use, from Scrolling Through Time, a clock advanced by a single swipe every minute, to Scrolling Through Memory, which endlessly browses a personal photo archive, and Mirror from the Past, which captures viewers and scrolls through faces and moments from the recent past. At the heart of the series is the Valet, a refined, silent machine designed for the home. Released in a limited edition of 25, it offers a playful yet thought-provoking proposition: outsource your scrolling and reclaim the time it consumes.

2026 marks Tjep.’s 25th anniversary, celebrated with Infinite Scroll: a series of kinetic sculptures that take the most reflexive gesture of modern life — the scroll — out of our thumbs and into the room. As the image hints, a free-standing robots autonomously operating a screen, turning an ironic, unblinking eye on the spirit of our own scrolling age. Six perform together at the Codrico Factory (Rotterdam) and the Waag Futurelab (Amsterdam) this September; the work is released as a limited edition of 25 in brass, stainless or corten steel — one for each year of the studio’s practice.
