AUTOMOBILSPORT Magazin

AUTOMOBILSPORT Magazin World's most dedicated print quarterly, fueled with RACING, HISTORY and PASSION.

AUTOMOBILSPORT - RACING / HISTORY / PASSION

Robert Weber

Who still remembers Konrad KM-011? The KM-011 was Franz Konrad's (right) Group C car, which he raced in the 1991 World Sportscar Championship. Although he shared the wheel with Stefan Johansson, the car failed to score any points.

This photo of the beautiful Bentley Speed 8 is a reminder, that there are still a few copies of our great Bentley Speed 8 book available in our shop - also signed copies of the Collector's Edition, signed by the six drivers that achieved the Le Mans double victory in 2003 (Herbert/Kristensen/Smith and Blundell/Brabham/Capello). It was awarded "Motorsport book of the year" in 2023 by the RAC. Get yours now! It would also make a great Christmas gift.

This young royal Formula Vee racer was recently interviewed! Leopold Prince of Bavaria is racing cars since the 1970s. That's exactly how long he's been friends with Dieter Quester. Together with Hans-Joachim Stuck, they formed the infamous Trio Infernale, which was known for its crude jokes and all kinds of pranks. Quester and von Bayern were interviewed by AUTOMOBILSPORT at this year's Red Bull Ring Classics. The interview can be found in our issue .

What’s your favourite colour?

After almost two decades, Porsche resurrected the Carrera RS name in the 1992 model year. Based on the 911 generation 964, a more than worthy successor to the Carrera RS from 1973 was created. However, the background story of the 964 Carrera RS began two years earlier with the Carrera Cup car from 1990.

The book 964 Carrera RS sheds light on the origin of the 964 generation as well as the Carrera Cup 1990, the Carrera RS and its derivatives: Touring, Clubsport, RS/RSR 3.8 as well as the Carrera Cup USA and the RS America, although neither of the latter is strictly speaking a Carrera RS.

The Coloured Edition is limited to 964 clothbound copies. Of these 964 copies, 300 books are Rubystone Red (180 in English and 120 in German), 300 Maritime Blue (180 in English and 120 in German), 200 Pearlgray (120 in English and 80 in German), and 164 Green (98 in English and 66 in German).

The Standard edition is limited to 3000 numbered copies (1600 copies in English, 1140 copies in German and 260 copies in French).

Hand in hand...
That's the way to achieve something together. Alpine did that in the early 1970s with lots of great success, and, coincidence or not, they just did it again with their first WEC victory last weekend for Habsburg/Chatin/Milesi with their Alpine A424. Another coincidence is, believe it or not, our new cover feature on Alpine in rallying and racing 1952-1978 (and up to 2025). 🎉
Enjoy!
