The IT landscape in Germany is about to change.

With the US introducing a $100K annual fee per H1B visa,global talent flows may shift.

Will this give Germany and the EU an edge in attracting engineers?
Or will US companies just open offices abroad?

What it means for Germany:

4/5 years ago companies had to hunt for IT talent.
Today, most tech jobs get hundreds of applications.
Gaps remain in product, security, and embedded engineering.

More engineers are coming from India (via Chancenkarte) and German universities but many already spend 3/4 months job hunting.

The biggest imbalance?
Language.

With B1/B2 German , you’re hired.
Without the language most doors stay closed, and unemployment risk rises as English-speaking roles shrink.

My advice: If you’re a professional coming to Germany, learn German. It will be the single biggest factor in landing a job here. 🇩🇪
