This is Hattusha, not Peru. 2,000 years older than Machu Picchu.

Hattusha, the ancient capital of the Hittite Empire, was founded around 1600 BCE in present-day Boğazkale, Türkiye.

Surrounded by 6 km of defensive walls with monumental gates like the Lion Gate and Sphinx Gate, the city was a masterpiece of Bronze Age urban planning. Its lower city housed the Great Temple, while the upper city featured a network of temples, royal buildings, and fortifications. Thousands of cuneiform tablets discovered in its archives include the world’s first known peace treaty, signed with Egypt after the Battle of Kadesh.
