On the way to Overloon and TWENOT I was visiting the Technology Museum in Speyer, Germany (well worth a visit for fans of oldtimers, fire engine, submarines, aircraft and many more, but only a few military vehicles). Heading for Holland the next day I decided to drive through the Ardennes in Belgium and pay one of my all-time favourite museums another visit: The "December 44 Museum" in the village of La Gleize, right where the Battle of the Bulge took place in December 1944. The museum is a private effort and shows many findings from the battlefield, plus scenes (behind glass) with many interesting uniforms in dioramas, but only two vehicles. HOWEVER (!) one of which is the mighty King Tiger which stands right in front of the museum only yards away from where it was knocked out during the battle. It is true "eye candy" to see such a behemoth not in a museum area, but where it actually fought. A place every true Panzer fan should have visited at least once. History coming alive!
