“I deeply regret my actions and I’m truly sorry” – Actress Angela Okorie publicly apologizes to Ned Nwoko, Mercy Johnson and her husband after her recent social media outbursts.
She wrote:
“Hi beautiful people, these past days have been a time of deep reflection for me. Looking back at everything that has happened, I can only thank God that I’m still here and able to speak my truth.
It’s no secret that there have been issues between Mercy Johnson and myself circulating online. I want to openly address this today. I am human. Sometimes, when emotions take over, I speak straight from the heart — often without filtering my words. At that moment I might feel hurt and speak out, then move on and forget about it. But I’ve come to realize that, regardless of where those words came from, they were hurtful. Recent events have opened my eyes, and I know I should have handled things better.
Mercy, I am sincerely sorry. I can only imagine how my words may have affected you. Your mental health and peace are so important, now and always. I would never wish you or your family harm — that’s not who I am, and you know it. Please, find it in your heart to forgive me.
Over time I’ve also been at the receiving end of lies, betrayal, and unwarranted attacks. Some bloggers spread false stories, others created videos full of lies. It’s been overwhelming, but I choose to forgive everyone and leave them to their own conscience.
To Senator Ned Nwoko, I also owe a heartfelt apology. My reaction in the heat of the moment was wrong and disrespectful, even though it came as a response to unprovoked attacks. Looking back, I deeply regret my words. I’ve always respected you — I was part of your political campaign alongside other artists, and I’ve gladly supported your family’s yearly children’s carnival whenever invited. That’s why it hurts me even more that my actions caused any form of disrespect.
I’ve learned that peace is always better than conflict. I deeply regret my actions, and I am truly sorry.”
