HOT OFF THE PRESS

Even though it is summertime, our publishing activities are in full swing:

Dimiter Kenarov is a freelance journalist, poet, literary critic, and translator. His English-language writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Esquire, Outside, The Nation, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, The New York Times, and The Virginia Quarterly Review, among many others.
His collection of essays, "Dictators, Tractors and Other Adventures" presents engaging reportage narratives about a world that is familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. As Georgi Gospodinov puts it: "From the death of Slobodan Milošević, with all the kitsch of the ensuing mourning, through Radovan Karadžić’s pancake as a local attraction, to the Ukrainian Serengeti on the border with Crimea, to the strange case of the Belarusian tractors and the arrest of the author himself... Dimiter Kenarov has traversed every kilometer of these stories and has felt every word on his own skin. A powerful and absolutely timely book.".

HOT OFF THE PRESS

As generally understood, women’s identity is a complex, personal sense of self shaped by diverse cultural expectations, different social roles (like mother or professional), personal experiences, and biological factors, encompassing individual traits and group affiliations (ethnic, religious) while evolving through life stages, often contrasting internal self-perception with societal pressures for femininity or motherhood. It’s not a single definition but a diverse, multifaceted experience, influenced heavily by history, culture, and individual choices, challenging or accepting universal moulds.

The authors of this volume write about some remarkable women from their own culture (or that of others), from different times, from varied religious backgrounds, and from all over the world – but all expressing emotional stories about how they changed the perceptions and influenced the destinies of others.
