“İsveç Kralı XII. Karl'ın Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'na olan borçlarını tahsil etme göreviyle Stockholm'e gönderilen Kozbekçi Mustafa Ağa'nın başarısız olmasının ardından, bu sefer beş yıl sonra, 1732 yılının Kasım ayında aynı görevle Mehmed Said Efendi İsveç'e gönderilir. 1733'ün Mayıs ayında kırk üç kişilik maiyetiyle Stockholm'e ulaşır. İsveçli ressam George Engelhardt Schröder'in yukarıdaki tablosunda on dört kişilik maiyetiyle birlikte betimlenen Mehmed Said Efendi'yi kompozisyonun ortasında görüyoruz.

Mehmed Said Efendi, görünürde, İsveç’e sadece XII. Karl’a verilen parayı tahsil etmek için gönderilmiştir. Ancak gönderilişinin başka bir sebebi de İsveç ile Rusya arasında bir ittifakın yapılıp yapılmadığının araştırılmasıdır.

İsveç’in mali durumunun bozukluğu sebebiyle, o da, ilk önce Kozbekçi Mustafa Ağa gibi, XII. Karl’ın borcunu tahsil edemez. Daha sonra, İsveç'in, Ruslara karşı Osmanlı'yı destekleme sözüyle borç düşürülür, Osmanlı Devleti'ne verilecek bir savaş gemisiyle konu kapatılır. Most conspiracy theories paint an absurd picture of the world.

Some people believe the weirdest things.

Historically speaking, conspiracy theories aren’t a new phenomenon.

Most conspiracy theories are also based on the same underlying idea that nothing ever happens by chance, that there’s a plan which was set in motion by those in the know. According this view, nothing is ever as it seems – it’s all connected somehow.

they divide the world into good and evil, and build a comprehensive view of the world. This simplistic good vs bad thinking makes it very easy to conjure up enemies and use them to further a political agenda, as the example of QAnon in the US recently illustrated.

why are so many people still drawn to them?

Among other things, Bawidamann’s study shows that there are close links between spiritual or religious beliefs and believing in conspiracy theories. For example, people from an evangelical or esoteric background appear to be particularly susceptible to these theories.

We therefore tend to look for information that confirms our opinions, and we also remember these ideas much more easily. This bias is further amplified online by algorithms that filter the information presented to us by search engines and social media based on our profiles. “We all have some confirmation biases, and this means we may also act irrationally,” says Sebastian Schmidt, “but these biases seem to be particularly strong among conspiracy theorists.”

They said that they don’t understand everything that’s going on and also don’t know if they’ve always been told the truth,” says the UZH professor. “Religion no longer gives them a point of reference, and nor does science.” This void could perhaps be filled by conspiracy theories.

Schengen vizesi başvurularına ret oranı yüzde 15'den yüzde 50’ye yükseldi

Avrupa Birliği ülkelerine gitmek için Schengen vizesi başvurusunda bulunanlar randevu almakta zorlanıyor. Ret alanların sayısının da fazla olduğu belirtiliyor. Öte yandan 2022 yılında ret verilen vize müracaat oranı yüzde 15'in üzerinde iken, 2023'te bu oran yüzde 50 civarına yükseldiği ifade ediliyor.

The pro-opposition Syrian Network for Human Rights has stated it had documented 230,224 civilian deaths and 14 million displaced between March 2011 and March 2023.

There have been numerous reports of chemical weapons attacks in the Syrian Civil War,beginning in 2012.

The attacks occurred in different areas of Syria, including Khan al-Assal, Jobar, Saraqib, Ashrafiyat Sahnaya, Kafr Zita, Talmenes, Sarmin and Douma. The deadliest attacks were the August 2013 sarin attack in Ghouta (killing between 281 and 1,729 people), the April 2017 sarin attack in Khan Shaykhun (killing at least 89 people) and April 2018 Douma chemical attacks (killing 43 people and injuring 500 civilians). The most common agent used is chlorine (with one study finding it was used in 91.5% of attacks), with sarin and sulphur mustard also reported.Almost half of the attacks between 2014 and 2018 were delivered via aircraft and less than a quarter were delivered from the ground, with the remaining attacks having an undetermined method of delivery.Since the start of uprisings across Syria in 2011,Syrian Arab Armed Forces and pro-Assad paramilitary forces have been implicated in more than 300 chemical attacks in Syria.
