Hey authors,

No major releases this week, but you might notice some visual tweaks — we’re gradually improving author profiles and polishing up the overall experience.

Our dev team is keeping an eye out for any hiccups with publications or purchases. Remember, we’re still in beta — small bugs can happen! But please don’t suffer in silence: reach out via [email protected] and we’ll jump on it right away.

Here’s what we’re currently working on:
- Donations. Soon you’ll be able to accept reader donations directly from your profile — no book purchase required. Think Ko-fi, but built right into Written.
- New login & registration. You won’t need to re-register or republish anything, promise. But those frustrating OTP issues? Gone for good.
- Localization. We’re preparing to welcome authors from all over the world, and that means new language support and regional features.
- Limited editions 2.0. Support for numbered copies and variant covers is coming soon — perfect for collectible releases and special drops.
- WriNoWriMo! Our own take on NaNoWriMo launches this November. When the original challenge went quiet this year, we decided to carry the torch — so you’ll soon see a new community forum just for it. Jump in, suggest topics, start threads, and get ready to write!

Hey authors! Big news time.

📢 Starting now, publishing is 100% free — for both unlimited and limited editions (when you specify a number of copies during publication). Just create your draft → Written performs an originality check (approx. 5–10 minutes) → once ready, go to your author profile and click Release to publish your book.

📢 Books now have no additional technical fees. Readers will pay exactly the amount you set during publication — nothing more.

⚠️ If you encounter any issue during publication or purchase, please contact us immediately. Resolving such cases is our highest priority.

Upcoming features:
• A new registration and authorisation system to resolve issues with one-time codes
• Reader donations
• Support for limited editions with numbered copies and variant covers
• Cool updates to author profiles: this will take some time, but we’re aiming to provide a Substack-like / MyMind-like experience — including the ability to pin your books and posts, add details about your writing career, and make your profile 100% your own
