Tiger Fingers - Little Drummer Girl (Jimmy Edgar Remix)
Little Drummer Girl was a stunningly rich, diverse, and forward-looking EP from the Brooklyn duo Tiger Fingers, a collaboration between Jordan Lieb (also known as Black Light Smoke) and Asako Fujimoto. The release featured three remixes of the title track, each with a distinct angle and a clear sense of identity.

Jimmy Edgar contributed the final cut on the EP. His version took the original as a launch point and built from it a tightly coiled electro-boogie-jam. Funk-driven, rhythmically sharp, and packed with detail, it stood out as an inventive piece of club music that carried his signature. Another timeless gem for the Classic of the week selection.

This remix flows with a kind of quiet voltage. Pablo Bolívar warps the original into a low lit voyage, built on warm subbass, loose percussion, and synth washes that hover in suspension.

Small gestures do the work. A shimmer of delay and the way the groove holds just long enough before shifting. Each element sits with intent so nothings is breaking the haze.

Originally released in 2018 on hafendisko, it remains one of Bolívar’s most spatial and transportive reworks fully locked into its own orbit. A favorite and easy addition to our classic of the week selection.

“Easy” by Snacks first surfaced in 2015 on the „Hafendisko Nummer Eins“ compilation, which brought together highlights from the label. Built around a low slung groove, soft focus chords it captured the duo’s sense of rhythm and restraint from the very beginning.

Still early in their collaboration, the Berlin and Auckland pair had already carved out a distinct identity. Loose, funky, and fluid, it remains a defining cut from Hafendisko’s early catalog and a natural pick for our Classic of the week selection.
