Sonata Arctica announces 30th Anniversary World Tour
Around 30 years ago a bunch of youngsters gathered to play some music together in the small town of Kemi in Finland. Little did they know, that this hobby of theirs would turn into an amazing journey, that would take them around the world for the next 3 decades and beyond. With 11 studio albums and over 1500 shows in more than 50 countries, Sonata Arctica has cemented their name in the history of heavy metal with more to come.
In 2026 the band will embark on their 30th Anniversary World Tour celebrating their career performing their most known songs and selected deep cuts for their fans all around the world, or as Tony Kakko the singer and composer of the band puts it: ”The only correct way to celebrate 30 years of Sonata Arctica and the music we have created, is to go on tour and do it together with you all, on a special tour, with a special setlist, on which we´ve distilled the essence of these 30 years of musical adventures. And for course at the same time work on our 12th studio album. This is gonna be a tour to remember!”.
Many tour dates will be announced shortly - and we start from announcing the first two dates in Sweden, where Sonata Arctica will be joined by Seven Spires - "We are thrilled to join the celebration of Sonata Arctica's 30 years in Sweden!! We can't wait to start the party each night. Not to mention the pure joy of getting to play for Swedish audiences, who bring such incredible energy to the show. See you soon!" says the band.
