High-quality family entertainment, created with partners from all over Europe: Ulysses Films develops, finances and makes animated films and series for cinema and television, collaborating on international co-productions. Most of the scripts come from original ideas: exciting new stories given the very best artistic attention and technical expertise, launched into the international market with uni
que flair. The company is based in Hamburg, but can fall back on an extensive network of creatives, animation artists and studios from all across Germany and the whole of Europe. Ulysses’ films are screened at national and international film festivals, they receive awards, are sold worldwide and are a hit with many millions of cinema-goers at the box office. In 2016 Ulysses Films was named European Animation Producer of the Year for Ooops! Noah is Gone… an important award that has motivated us and opened all sorts of new doors. We’re already working on a sequel to this hugely successful film about young animals Finny and Leah. Bayala is Ulysses’ first venture into the world of elves, bringing the famous characters and the well-established Schleich brand into cinemas. Ulysses Film produces Luis and the Aliens after an idea by Hamburg based Oscar® winning Wolfgang Lauenstein and Christoph Lauenstein, who not only functioned as writers, but are also directors for the film. Other films in production include The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents, based on the hit novel by British author Terry Pratchett. The script is being adapted by American screenwriter Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean, Shrek). Ulysses was established in Hamburg in 2004, the associated music label 'Ulysses Music' was founded in 2019.
