First impressions matter and go a long way in estimating how the future experiences are going to turn out. In a big city, one likes to assess the state of the infrastructure, public transport, crowds, price of food at restaurant, traffic, behaviour of the locals that begins from the hotel reception.

In the case of Rome, what strikes right from the first instance is the history associated with this ancient city. Unlike many other European cities, Rome escaped extreme bombing during the World Wars, due to which a lot of the architecture of the city has been preserved.

Without doubt, Rome is one of the most historic cities I have ever visited. And, on the first evening itself we got a sense of the same while visiting the famous Trevi Fountain followed by the equally well-known Spanish Steps, that were built in the 18th Century.

Village to village in Switzerland 🇨🇭
🇮🇳

I uploaded a Vlog on Swiss Village Les Hauderes earlier (link in comment). The tiny Village is unique as the houses there have been preserved and protected the way they were when they were first built. Elsewhere in Switzerland 🇨🇭 as also the rest of the world, old houses are being pulled down and replaced by mechanically duplicated apartment buildings.

While these make business sense to the proprietors, they lack the charm and aesthetics of the older dwellings. In this Vlog, we walk/hike to the adjoining Village La Sage.

The views are beautiful. But La Sage, unlike Les Hauderes, is a Village that is urbanising rapidly to cater to the large tourist traffic that arrives for multiple adventures sports especially mountain biking 🚵‍♀️ and skiing ⛷️. Dairy and farming are the other sources of income in the area.

Monte Carlo, playground of the richest (Updated) 🇮🇳

Monte Carlo is the most famous municipality of Monaco, which is the richest country in the world in terms of per capita income. This is because of a friendly tax regime due to which some of the wealthiest people live here. Many profitable companies also like to register themselves in Monaco.

Why Switzerland 🇨🇭 is so clean?

One big reason is systematic garbage disposal. Heavy fines also play a part.

Thermal bath, Budapest, Hungary 🇭🇺 🇮🇳

Thermal baths in Hungary and Budapest date back to over 2000 years when the Romans utilised the geothermal energy to heat their homes. The springs known for their medicinal properties are popular with the local elderly population and tourists from across the world, looking to experience a traditional form of healing and relaxation.
