Happy pride month!
„Men in Heels“ is a project that came from a very personal place. As someone who stands alongside the LGBTQ+ community, I wanted to be part of something that makes space for identity, expression, questions that don’t always have answers.
The idea started with a quiet, honest conversation between generations—between me and my assistant Tina Lucida (see last post) . We come from different places in life, with different experiences, but found a shared curiosity and a strong connection through working together. That mix of perspectives shaped everything about this little project. Photographing men in high heels wasn’t about performance, it was about presence and showing doubt, pride, playfulness, and strength, all at once.
This series doesn’t try to define anything. It holds space for the fluid, the in-between, the beautifully uncertain. For me, „Men in Heels“ is a gentle invitation: to pause, to look again, and to let go of assumptions. It’s about listening more than speaking. Feeling more than judging. And maybe in that space, we find each other more.
This is one shot of the series with wonderful Miss Vander Lizm. Check out her series „Vanity Peer“ in Hamburg. Thank you for taking a part; I must say this photo with the t-shirt text goes out truly to all these insane people who think the world is not colorful, even in black/white it is! xx k.
