Seeing the World Through the Voice of Place

🌊✨It’s World Ocean Day!

Filamenta by K49814 invites us to consider the fragile threads that connect marine life, industry, and our shared future. Through intricate images drawn from the fishing industry, the artist reveals both the beauty of ocean ecosystems and the consequences of their exploitation.

The publication confronts our fractured relationship with the oceans and challenges us to imagine more attentive and responsible ways of inhabiting the world together.

K49814’s project Fish Scale Garden was recently featured in Trillion, the critically acclaimed 2025 documentary directed by Victor Kossakovsky. The film received the Best Documentary Award at the Sofia International Film Festival. ✨

✨ From the Archive

La Lunga Strada by Monika Barth

A photographic journey through Italy, Ukraine, Norway, and Costa Rica, moving between faith, love, hope, and death.

Created as a subjective visual diary (2018–2020), Barth dissolves geographic and cultural borders into an emotional, existential space shaped by empathy and closeness.

Balancing document and invention, La Lunga Strada traces a world seen from within.
