As we close out 2025, we’re not only looking back on another inspiring year, we’re also celebrating three decades of Kehrer! 🎉

It all began in 1995 in the garden level of a historic Heidelberg villa, with our very first book Celebrities—Celebrities (Marilyn on the cover!) and a small two-person team. From day one, our mission was clear: to create photography and art books with exceptional craftsmanship – a philosophy that still guides us today.

Thirty years later, we’ve grown, moved studios (five times!), and published nearly 1,500 books, all while keeping production rooted in Germany and driven by a team that pours heart, passion, and detail into every step. What started small has become an internationally recognized powerhouse for bold, thoughtful, beautifully crafted photobooks.

We’re grateful for another year of outstanding releases, inspiring collaborations, and unforgettable fairs and events around the globe. We truly love what we do.

Most importantly: thank you to our remarkable artists. You are the heart of everything. Thank you for trusting us with your important bodies of work . It’s a joy and a privilege to work with each and every one of you.

And now, we look ahead. 😉 starting 2026 with a bang. Stay tuned! 🚀📚

💥 New Release 💥

The Hook by Lisa Cutler is out now!

On the western edge of Brooklyn lies Red Hook – a neighborhood shaped by layered histories and constant transformation. ✨

A wrong turn led photographer Lisa Cutler there in 2017, and for the next two years she returned, captivated by its collision of visual chaos and Victorian beauty.
Once one of the world’s busiest industrial ports, Red Hook fell into steep decline in the mid-20th century. Today, rapid redevelopment and gentrification create a new tension between its industrial past, resilient community, and a waterfront identity in flux.

Nature, but make it magic. 🌿✨

Swiss artist Roger Rigorth creates mesmerizing land art that inspires generations—his element of choice: wood, rendered seemingly weightless. Bizarre structures appear as mysterious boats, tirelessly dancing wing mobiles, or floating »beehives.«
For over thirty years, the trained sculptor has been creating extraordinary interventions in nature.

Now, Utopie der Natur brings together his most striking works from the last twelve years — accompanied by artist sketches, behind-the-scenes insights, and poems by award-winning poet Ishmael von Heidrick-Barnes that deepen this compelling publication. 🌞🌲

For anyone who loves art, nature, or getting lost in something beautiful.

A box of nearly 1,000 field letters. ✨
A love story written between freezing nights, dusty shelters, fear, and hope.

Photographer Hanno Ketterer turns a deeply personal family archive into a moving debut book that weaves together original WWII letters, historical photos, AI-generated imagery, and contemporary narration, creating a deeply moving, time-spanning narrative of hope.

A uniquely designed photobook, reminding us that love leaves traces that outlast everything.

In Infinity Complex Landscape, Japanese photographer traces Ukraine’s complex relationship with its past. Traveling through Carpathian Ukraine, Odessa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhzhia, Mariupol, Crimea, and beyond, she captures quiet moments where everyday life and history meet.✨ 💫
»INFINITY COMPLEX LANDSCAPE is a project aimed at reevaluating the intricate history of the “Land in Between” from a Japanese perspective. This photo book seeks to move beyond certain stereotypes that have been perpetuated by the mass media since the outbreak of the war, and to convey the history of the region of Ukraine, as well as the realities of the people who live there.

The psychological and physical scars left by the war—on both the land and its people—are unlikely to fade in the near future; in fact, they may remain across multiple generations. Through this photo book, I wish to convey deep longing for a past that can no longer be reclaimed, steadfast hope for a better future, and the belief that those outside the conflict have a responsibility that cannot be ignored.« – Yoshie Itasaka

The book also includes an essay by Professor Kimitaka Matsuzato, one of the world’s leading scholars of post-Soviet history and politics, and recipient of the Huttenbach Prize awarded by the Association for the Study of Nationalities.
