There’s always more to see than meets the eye.👁️

Introducing Modernising Nature, the latest by Swiss-based photographer Zak van Biljon.
Using near-infrared photography, van Biljon reveals a version of nature that exists just beyond the limits of our perception. 🌿📷 Forests, meadows, and alpine slopes pulse with electric pinks and radiant reds, creating an uncanny yet captivating vision of the landscape. What might look like digital manipulation is actually a true rendering of invisible light, a hidden spectrum brought to life through the camera lens.

📍Modernising Nature is currently on view at Galerie 94 in Baden, Switzerland, through October 11, 2025.

“I have always only been interested in people.”
With this simple yet powerful conviction, Helga Paris (1938–2024) became one of the most vital photographic voices of East Germany. Her honest, intimate portraits of everyday life in the GDR gave visibility, and dignity, to those so often overlooked.

The new publication für uns offers a profound journey through five decades of her work, including her previously unpublished New York series and personal typewritten reflections. Sensitive, respectful, and deeply human, Paris’s photographs resonate far beyond their time and place.

✨ Just released: Inbal Abergil’s The Presence of Absence.
The result of a ten-year investigation, this photobook explores the aftermath of war through stories of Gold Star Families, still lifes of personal belongings, and portraits of Casualty Notification Officers.
Abergil reveals how memory resides in objects, how grief shapes daily life, and how the burden of delivering tragic news marks both families and those who serve. A four-channel video with Gold Star Mothers further deepens this reflection, offering voices on life after loss.
A powerful work that invites us to reflect on memory, mourning, and the human cost of conflict.

When a book becomes a milestone, it marks more than pages — it marks a partnership. ✨
Celebrating 30 years of Kehrer Verlag and a creative journey that began in 2005 with “Jesus and the Cherries” — one of our publishing . With its iconic oilcloth cover, this groundbreaking photobook anticipated the now-prevalent trend of treating books as art objects.
This late summer, Jessica Backhaus’ vibrant images take the spotlight at Ragusa Foto Festival (28.08 – 28.09.2025), offering an intimate glimpse of rural Poland during a time of profound change.
