"In 2023, I had the chance to get to know the SkyPanel X on a presentation in Berlin. It was really impressive. The output, the colours and the all-over handling. So I was really interested to bring them to Thailand. In Bangkok, there were no SkyPanel X available, so I bought 10 of them and ARRI was helping me out on that side to make it happen to ship them to Thailand." Gaffer Thorsten Kosellek ().

'Lufthansa a new Travel Experience' was one of the first projects illuminated with the SkyPanel X. Gaffer Albrecht Silberberger () recalls: "It was exciting to be one of the first to use the SkyPanel X21 fixtures. They arrived directly from the ARRI factory, still in their boxes! Despite the short setup time, everything worked flawlessly. One standout feature we really liked was the HyPer Optic accessory for hard light."

Cinematographer Tico Poulakakis CSC crafted the look for "Foundation" season 3 where he combined the ALEXA 35 with detuned Atlas Orion anamorphics and ARRI Rental’s DNA LF and HERO Look lenses. He recalls: "The magnificent Dominik Dusek from ARRI Rental Prague suggested the HERO Look lenses to us. They were fantastic to use and a great innovation on the part of ARRI Rental. Once again, they helped us tell the story of the Mule and the bedlam he introduces. They were particularly useful because of their ability to dial in the level of detuning to taste; we had great fun with them in that regard. They were also used extensively for another storyline— superbly executed by director Chris Byrne and the great Alar Kivilo ASC, CSC, ESC—involving the character Brother Day and his figurative descent into the ‘underworld’ of Trantor." It’s Olivia Colman vs. Benedict Cumberbatch in “The Roses,” the story of a couple whose marriage quickly devolves into an epic divorce battle. A reimagining of the 1989 classic “The War of the Roses,” this version was written by Tony McNamara, directed by Jay Roach and shot by Florian Hoffmeister BSC, who paired ARRI Rental’s exclusively rehoused Moviecam lenses with the ALEXA 35.

Cinematographer Toni Tillmann took the ALEXA 265 on a test shoot and shared his experience with us: "I was very curious to see how this special camera would perform on the agile and fast paced parkour shooting with my friend Dennis Korra. I was interested in finding out how the 65mm sensor influences the aesthetics and my way of framing and camera movement.

The camera felt very familiar, boasting the same dimensions and interfaces as an ALEXA 35 which allowed us to shoot effectively and move quickly.

Being able to frame wide shots with a shallow depth of field adds a beautiful depth to the image. The incredible DNA 65 lenses were the perfect fit for the shoot, adding a softer contrast and controlled flares while retaining enough control in an available light scenario. I can't wait to bring this setup to one of my upcoming shoots."

Cinematographer Georg Weiss, AAC: "Perla was my first project on ALEXA 35. I was really impressed by the dynamic range, which often allows for easier lighting setups as almost every highlight is protected. During the camera tests we liked the nostalgic texture of the camera so much that we decided to completely burn it in. I felt that the texture interacted more organically with the image than most digital or scanned grain does. Thanks a lot to ARRI for the collaboration and the great support as always." "Perla" was serviced by ARRI Rental Vienna and is released in multiple countries.

Following yesterday’s launch of the ALEXA 35 Xtreme, we’re excited to share the first demo reel!

Captured by cinematographers across the globe, the reel features high-speed footage with the new ALEXA 35 Xtreme. Showcasing the camera’s unique combination of industry-leading image quality and super-slow motion, the clips encompass a diverse range of sport, commercial, tabletop, promo, and narrative applications. ALEXA 35 Xtreme frame rates go up to 330 fps with the full 17-stops of dynamic range, and an incredible 660 fps in the new Sensor Overdrive mode.
