Can you name one beautiful techno track today🤷‍♂️ In a sense where the song is full with emotion, deepness, amazing strings, a crackin bass line. Today’s Techno has been stripped of its musicality. Instead, it’s just distorted drums, random bleeps and bloops, followed by a drop and a snare roll, for the song to do the same all over again. Almost every techno track is like that today. Where’s the innovation? Acid Eiffel is a perfect example of a beautiful and timless techno track. Written by Ludovic Navarre and Laurent Garnier. Look at the bliss it puts on people’s faces. There eyes are closed, with a beautiful wide smile, and they’re transported. Instead of ”rage face,” when people are dancing only to hard and fast techno. Those are two different experiences. There is room for both. It’s going to take more than artists to wiggle our sound back into the scene. The change is going to have to come from promoters willing to book events like this brick by brick until the scene has refreshed itself. But that’s a long shot. I’m a realist and know this. It’s such a shame that there is no beautiful and almost spiritual techno anymore and definitely no “bliss face”. House events have tons of bliss, but not so much in techno. Make Techno Beautiful Again…Flame suit on. Fire away with your criticism 🫣
