Domestic Violence in Marriage: Knowing When It's Time to Leave
Marriage is meant to be a place of love, respect, and safety—not fear. No one should have to endure physical violence, emotional abuse, threats, or controlling behavior in the name of keeping a marriage together.
While every relationship faces challenges, abuse is not a normal marital problem that can be excused or ignored. If your spouse repeatedly harms you, intimidates you, isolates you, or makes you fear for your safety, it is important to recognize that the situation is serious.
There comes a point when protecting your life, dignity, and well-being must take priority. Seeking help, creating a safety plan, and leaving an abusive relationship is not a sign of failure it can be an act of courage and self-preservation.
Remember: Love should never hurt. If a marriage consistently puts your safety at risk, it may be time to walk away and seek the support you deserve.
