Last week’s conference reminded me of something I often reflect on when I'm in a contemplative mood: in the world of meetings, complex , and high-stakes , the of matters more than ever. And it's not a cliché! You can have perfect slides, bulletproof specifications, or the most advanced tools — but without trust, clarity, empathy, and precise interpretation, messages get lost.
When meetings are held in a foreign language (or under linguistic strain), participants’ hashtag rises, comprehension can slip, and decisions may skew.
For instance, in decision-making research, presenting problems in a foreign language has been shown to shift how (like framing or loss aversion) play out — reducing some intuitive biases, but at the cost of increased hashtag (cf. https://lnkd.in/eS9XFWVW).
In short: the precision of — the nuance, the pause, the checking of understanding — becomes essential. When we bring , clarity, and cultural sensitivity into technical dialogue, we ensure ideas don’t just pass, but land correctly.
