The world’s nuclear powers:
- 1945: The U.S. becomes the first nuclear nation with the Trinity Test and Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombings

- 1949–1964: The Soviet Union (1949), UK (1952), France (1960), and China (1964) follow quickly

- 1974 & 1998: India tests in 1974, and Pakistan responds in 1998, escalating a regional arms race

- 2006+: North Korea exits the NPT and conducts nuclear tests in 2006 and beyond

Today, nine countries officially or secretly possess nuclear weapons—from the original five under the NPT to India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea

These events mark the spread of nuclear capability across the globe, highlighting efforts like the NPT and the ongoing challenge to limit and roll back these arsenals.

Tensions Escalate: Key Updates from Today’s Iran-Israel Conflict

Iranian missiles struck several sites in Israel, killing at least 4 and injuring dozens.

In response, Israel launched attacks on Iranian cities and facilities, reportedly killing over 80 people and injuring more than 320.

Over 40 Iranian military targets were hit, including air defense systems.

3 Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps members have been killed in Zanjan province.

Iran calls talks with the U.S. “meaningless” while under Israeli attack.

The U.S. denies involvement and urges Iran to engage in nuclear negotiations.

⚠️ More missile strikes may follow, warns Israel’s military.

📍 Mount Arafat (Jabal al-Rahmah)
Mount Arafat is a significant hill located about 20 kilometers southeast of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It holds great importance in Islam as the site where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) delivered his Farewell Sermon. In Germany during summer, the days are long — really long! That’s because Germany lies far north of the equator. As Earth tilts towards the sun in summer, countries at higher latitudes get much more daylight.

This means sunsets can happen as late as 10 PM and sunrise as early as 5 AM. It’s nature’s way of giving Europe more time to enjoy the sun ☀️ — before the long, dark winters return!
