A little Sunday culture trip. 🚋

This morning, I spent a few hours exploring two historic locations in Magdeburg with a good friend for Open Monument Day.

Beautiful architecture, plenty of history and a lovely ride through the city on an old tram. Three hours well spent—with just the right amount of culture. 😄

Sometimes you don’t have to go far to discover something new.

Last weekend, I went back to my hometown for our 25-year school reunion. On the way there, my oldest school friend had to quickly take a few outfit pictures of me. Some things apparently never change. 😄📸

Besides visiting my parents, one of the highlights was seeing some of my old classmates again—people I hadn’t seen in a very long time.

We spent the evening talking about old memories, making new ones and, of course, wondering where the last 25 years actually went.

And yes… apparently I was that guy with the coolest outfit. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. 😅✌🏼

A little throwback to my meetup with Kristian in Hamburg. 🇩🇪

We had a great chat over some proper, hearty Hamburg food. And honestly, it’s crazy how much this guy knows about certain shoemakers. A true heritage nerd – in the very best sense. 😄

It’s always great to meet people from our community in real life and realise that the connection you have online works just as well in person. 🙏🏼

While we were sitting outside, we got caught by a little rain shower. But apparently, Hamburg had a reward waiting for us afterwards: a beautiful rainbow. 🌈

By the way, I’ll be in Berlin at the beginning of November. So if anyone from Berlin is around and feels like grabbing a coffee, a b**r or some food – let me know. 😎✌🏼

A little weekend outfit recap from a friend’s birthday party at Deerstone Ranch near Riesa, Saxony. 🤠

Good food, nice people and a pretty fitting location for a bit of Western-inspired style. The theme, by the way, was that everyone should wear something glittery. I managed to bring myself to wear a gold-glittery pocket square. 😅

But the real question is: does a rodeo cowboy hat actually suit me?

The end of summer is slowly approaching, temperatures are finally dropping a little, and that means one thing I’ve been waiting for: layering season is back. 😎

For a while now, this beautiful corduroy Western shirt from FlannelGo has been waiting in my wardrobe for its first proper outing. The slightly heavier fabric and warm brown colour make it perfect for these in-between days.

I paired it with a rather unusual piece of military history: an NVA field jacket from the former East German Army. This particular model was part of a so-called uniform trial and was never actually issued to soldiers.

What I find interesting is the pocket arrangement, which visually reminds me of some of the earlier summer field jackets used by NATO armies. Another little example of how military clothing from very different backgrounds can influence and inspire modern outfits.

And honestly, I’m just happy I can finally wear more than one layer again. 😄

How are you feeling today?

Some mornings as a dad already feel like an emotional rollercoaster before I’ve even left the house.

Getting my little one ready for daycare means navigating excitement, tiredness, frustration, negotiation, laughter… sometimes all within a few minutes. And while I’m helping him through all those big feelings, they don’t just bounce off me. They affect me, too.

By the time we finally make it out the door, I’ve probably been through half a dozen moods myself. 😅

So today, I’m somewhere between everything in the slides 😅
