Next year my Passion & Poetry Peckinpah project will come to an end. After 25 years! Over 40 hrs. of documentaries, supplements, audio-commentaries and what have you. The big final is movie heaven for all of us, incl. 7 1/2 hours of PASSION & POETRY extras. Ten years ago, when me and others first tried getting PAT GARRETT out on Blu-ray, I already thought "probably only Criterion will get it done...". It's nice to close important chapers, with a Happy Ending attached to it. Due to communication problems my new film on Peckinpah (i.e. PAT GARRETT of course) almost didn't make its appearance on this premium release. I'm glad it happened, and so do many others (as I learn each day from viewers). I won't discuss the three (!) different versions here, the internet is full with opinions, discussions etc. Now we have five versions of the film! (a record?). All flawed, some more, some less. I think it fits Peckinpah's Life at that time. GREAT STUFF nevertheless, dive into it, have fun and enjoy! (and don't bitch about the retail price 😅, Criterion invested a lot of $ for this one!). 4-disc (2x UHD + 2x Blu-ray Digipak) or 2-disc (2x Blu-ray "only, Amaray). AND if some of you are on IMDB.com, please take 30 seconds to give my films a rating (in case you enjoyed them, otherwise please don't 😅).

The ultimate (European) CROSS OF IRON Blu-ray is out now... featuring 3 hours of supplements I produced plus my new audio-commentary. The new 4k restoration is OK, they also (slightly) improved the color grading, but I still do not like it too much. Buyers of our upcoming IMPRINT Box can compare the colors to the scan of my 35mm print (the box will also include new interviews and the recently discovered deleted scenes! I understand it's a question of budget for buyers, but the upcoming IMPRINT Box should be worth it, my ultimate shot at STEINER...)
