Upcoming release on Katalog: GRUEL are a four-piece hardcore punk band hailing from Mainz, Germany. Their music, which is vigorous, spirited and defiant, stands in opposition to the band’s namesake - the meagre, miserable broth drip-fed to the masses by our leaders and captains of industry.

While remaining firmly rooted in ‘80s hardcore punk, it is difficult to detect any particular overt musical influences in their sound. Their lyrical themes also vary significantly, ranging from screeds against the current crop of misogynistic “philosophers” selling instructional manuals on how to clean one’s bedroom, to songs about druids ingesting psilocybin and communing with the cosmos via animal sacrifice. A little something for everyone.
