Les mystérieux dessins de Janko Domšić ✏

La vie de l'artiste Janko Domšić avant son arrivée en France dans les années 1930 reste un mystère. Nous savons simplement qu’à la fin des années 1970, il occupe un débarras au 6e étage d’un immeuble parisien.

Parsemée de symboles politiques et religieux, irradiée de rayons cosmiques, son œuvre puissante revêt des accents triomphants. Dans ces dessins, il se nomme JÉSUS, un acronyme pour Janko-Écrit-Savant-Universal-Souperstar, ou bien pour : Janko-Espion-Soviétique-Ustacha-Souperstar.

The mysterious drawings of Janko Domšić ✏

Artist Janko Domšić’s life prior to his arrival in France in the 1930s remains a mystery. We do know that, in the late 1970s, he was living in a junk room on the sixth floor of a building in Paris.

Peppered with political and religious symbols, permeated by cosmic rays, his powerful body of work takes on a triumphant dimension. In these drawings, he calls
himself JÉSUS, an acronym for either Janko-Écrit-Savant-Universal-Souperstar (Janko-Writes-Scientist-Universal-Souperstar) or Janko-Espion-Soviétique-Ustacha-Souperstar
(Janko-Spy-Soviet-Ustacha-Souperstar).
