This is the final preview of my upcoming EP on Explosive, titled Snaga Iz Mraka, which translates to Strength From Darkness.
The closing track, Večna—written in Cyrillic as вечна—means Eternal in English and wraps up the EP. I created this track last, after channeling most of my emotions into the first three tracks. The opening track, Snaga, represents grief and letting go. Karma, the second track, is about processing anger, and track three, Sila, is a raw expression of rage.
With Sila, I was already pushing the limits of Hardcore, and with Večna, I took that even further, but slower, heavier, and darker. The kick is layered with a Hardcore kick I made a while back, paired with a deep, hollow 909 kick loaded with reverb. It makes you question: is this still Techno? What really separates Techno from Hardcore?
There’s a dark, haunting vibe that wraps itself around the heavy beats, like a warm blanket, allowing you to empty your mind and let the sound take over. For me, this track was a way to close a difficult chapter and find closure for my anger.
Fun fact: all the track titles have two syllables and end in "A", so I wanted the last one to follow the same pattern. While searching for Serbian words, I came across Večna, which immediately reminded me of Vecna from Stranger Things. That character is also full of rage, making it a fitting reference. Plus, there’s a legendary P*P track titled E-Ternal that carries a similar dark energy.
Originally, all the titles were written in Cyrillic script, but most platforms can’t handle that. It’s just another eternal problem, reminding us that not everything will go the way we want it to...
Cold Signals – Snaga Iz Mraka drops October 21st.
