Alhaji Musa Koroma Continues Weekly Philanthropy, Supporting Thousands in Freetown
Freetown, Sierra Leone – July 25, 2025
In an ongoing display of generosity and community spirit, prominent businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Musa Koroma continues his weekly humanitarian initiative, providing food and financial support to thousands of Sierra Leoneans in Freetown.
Every Friday, citizens from all walks of life including children, youths, men, women, the elderly, and persons living with disabilities assemble at 48 Big Waterloo Street, where Alhaji Koroma’s team distributes kilograms of rice and cash assistance to those in need.
The initiative, now a regular fixture in the lives of many struggling Sierra Leoneans, has garnered widespread admiration. Beneficiaries describe the gesture as a lifeline amid economic hardships, with many highlighting that the support cuts across ethnic, religious, and social boundaries.
Speaking briefly to journalists today, Alhaji Koroma said his mission is rooted in compassion and a desire to give back to the community that helped shape his journey. “Helping people should never be seasonal. It is a duty. As long as God gives me strength and means, I will continue to share with my fellow Sierra Leoneans,” he stated.
Residents praised his consistent efforts, with many calling on other successful Sierra Leoneans to emulate his example. As economic pressures mount across the country, such acts of kindness are increasingly being viewed not just as charity, but as a vital form of grassroots social support.
This Friday’s turnout again highlighted the scale of need in Freetown, and Alhaji Musa Koroma’s initiative stands as a beacon of hope and unity amid ongoing challenges.
