Christian Mason's composition "Zwischen den Sternen" (Between the Stars), inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke's poem, emerged from an intensive collaboration with Ensemble Recherche. Mason departs from the well-tempered tuning, working with scordatura and incorporating instruments such as steel drums and vibrating snare drums. At the tonal center is the piano, imbued with a transcendent mood.
This sonic universe interacts with the video installation "Opposite, You, Me", which explores the space between two people. A couple unable to be together moves within a visual world created by the artist Miwa Ogasawara.

Christian Masons Komposition Zwischen den Sternen, inspiriert von Rainer Maria Rilkes Gedicht, entsteht im intensiven Austausch mit Ensemble Recherche. Mason verlässt den Wohltemperierten Klang, arbeitet mit Skordatur und setzt Instrumente wie Steeldrum und schwingende Snaredrums ein. Im tonalen Zentrum steht das Piano mit einer entrückten Stimmung.
Dieses Klanguniversum interagiert mit der Videoinstallation Opposite, You, Me, die vom Raum zwischen zwei Menschen erzählt. Ein Liebespaar, das nicht zusammenkommen kann, agiert in einer von der Künstlerin Miwa Ogasawara geschaffenen visuellen Welt.
