Das Jahr 2022 war ein aussergewöhnliches! Unser Team hat sich vergrößert, wir haben unser neues Ganglabor etabliert und konnte erfolgreich 19 wissenschaftliche Arbeiten aus unserem Team publizieren.

Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich bei all unseren Freunden und Partnern bedanken. Aber unser größter Dank gilt unseren Patient:innen, die uns ihr Vertrauen geschenkt haben.

Although placing a syndesmotic fixation device is considered "easy", misplacement is frequentl.
In this study, published in Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy , we define easily identifiable landmarks to safely place anteriorly, center - center, or posteriorly angulated syndesmotic fixation devices.

Ruptures of the Achilles tendon are the most common tendon ruptures in humans. In recent years, most surgeons have adapted their surgical procedure from open reconstruction to minimal-invasive procedures.
Still most authors facilitate traditional postoperative rehabilitation protocols. These usually comprise of immobilization and restricted / non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks.

In the current systematic review we were able to show, that functional rehabilitation protocols are not only safe, but apparently do allow for a quicker return to work & sports.

The External Rotation Stress Test under fluoroscopy remains the intraoperative working-horse in detecting syndesmotic instability.
Based on a systematic review, we were able to show that a bilaterally performed ERST allowed to differentiate stable from unstable syndesmotic injuries.
