Berlin - zwei Wochen nach dem Start beim MC Munster e.V. ging es für das Frikadelli Team zum TSV Mariendorf 97 Berlin RC-Car-Racing nach Berlin zum 12 Stunden Rennen am Pfingstwochenende. Da rückte das DFB Pokal Spiel , ebenfalls in der Hauptstadt, in den Hintergrund.
Die Bedingungen konnten nicht besser sein, bei sommerlichen Temperaturen und einer anspruchsvollen Strecke konnten am Freitag die Trainings beginnen. Wir planten mit 2 LMH und zwei GT3 Fahrzeugen, die gemeldet waren, an den Start zu gehen, mussten aber im zweiten GT3 mit kurzfristigen Ausfällen umgehen, so dass wir uns entschlossen dieses Auto nicht zu starten. Ein Teil des Teams verlegte die Taktikbesprechung nach einem Abendessen ins Hotel AdlonKempinski Hotels um die Weichen zu stellen.
Samstag morgen traf sich das Team für finale Vorbereitungen für den Start um 14 Uhr. Gestartet wurde pünktlich um 14 Uhr fliegend hinter dem T-Car. Die Startplätze wurden verlost und somit hatten wir mit unseren LMH P2 , LMH 2 P12 und GT3 auf P13 ein gemischte Ausgangslage. Den Start fuhren auf LMH Simon Lauter - RC , LMH 2 Florian Lehr und auf GT3 Andreas Vogel. Nach dem Start zogen die LMH gleich mal an die Spitze, wobei Simon nach zwei Kurve freie Sicht nach vorne hatte. Florian im zweiten LMH bremste sich nach und nach an den GT3 durchs Feld. In Berlin gab es den Unterschied zu Munster, dass hier wenig Vollgas Passagen für die LMHs waren. Andreas im GT3 brachte unser Auto in das vordere Mittelfeld. Nach fast 2 Stunden Renndistanz lagen unsere beiden LMH vorne , der GT3 eng auf P2, so dass sich ein Dreikampf über die 12 Stunden zeigen sollte. Der GT3 besetzt von Mirko, Torsten, Kevin und Andreas zeigte eine starke Performance und konnte mit dem Mercedes AMG GT3 und dem Porsche 997 GT3 Cup mithalten. Die LMHs mit Jasmin Donath RC und Florian, Patrick, Thomas und Andreas lieferten sich immer wieder wahnsinnig tolle und extrem spannende Duelle. Für die Zuschauer wurden packende Überholmanöver und Duelle über Runden zum Leckerbissen. Erst als die Fahrzeuge zum Boxenstop und Fahrerwechsel kamen, war dies für einen Moment vorbei. Die jeweiligen Fahrer kamen mit sichtlich Spaß vom Fahrerstand. Mit Einbruch der Dunkelheit wurden die Rundenzeiten langsamer. Bis dahin hatte Simon mit einer 16:745 in der 526 Runde eine Marke gesetzt. Mit einem komfortablen Vorsprung von 21 Runden ging das Auto um Simon und Jasmin zur Geisterstunde. Mit dieser aber kamen technische Probleme, die das Team in unplanmässigen Stops lösen musste. Somit schrumpfte der Vorsprung zweitweise auf 2 Runden bis eine Stunde vor Rennende. In den letzten beiden Stint fuhren Jasmin und Simon einen 9 Runden Vorsprung ins Ziel um 2 Uhr morgens. Der GT3 mit Kevin, Andreas, Torsten und Mirko kämpften und brachten den dritten Platz nach Hause. Ein tolles Team mit einer erfolgreichen Fahrt über 12 Stunden.
Ein großes Dankeschön geht an Matthias Behrend und sein Team für die Vorbereitungen, das Essen und die tolle Stimmung auf und neben der Strecke. Wir kommen 2027 wieder!
Berlin - two weeks after the start at MC Munster e.V. the Frikadelli team went to the TSV Mariendorf 97 Berlin RC-Car-Racing to Berlin for the 12-hour race on the Pentecost weekend. Then the DFB Cup game, also in the capital, moved into the background.
The conditions could not be better, with summer temperatures and a demanding route, the training could begin on Friday. We planned to start with 2 LMH and two GT3 vehicles that were registered, but had to deal with short-term failures in the second GT3, so we decided not to start this car. Part of the team moved the tactical meeting to the Hotel Adlon after dinner to set the course.
Saturday morning the team met for final preparations for the start at 2 p.m. We started punctually at 2 p.m. flying behind the T-Car. The starting places were drawn and thus we had a mixed starting position with our LMH P2, LMH 2 P12 and GT3 on P13. The start was on LMH Simon Lauter - RC, LMH 2 Florian Lehr and on GT3 Andreas Vogel. After the start, the LMH pulled straight to the top, whereby Simon had a clear view to the front after two corners. Florian in the second LMH gradually braked at the GT3 through the field. In Berlin, there was a difference to Munster that there were few full-gas passages for the LMHs. Andreas in the GT3 brought our car into the front centre of the field. After almost 2 hours of racing distance, our two LMHs were in front, the GT3 close to P2, so that a three-fight should show up over the 12 hours. The GT3 occupied by Mirko, Torsten, Kevin and Andreas showed a strong performance and was able to keep up with the Mercedes AMG GT3 and the Porsche 997 GT3 Cup. The LMHs with Jasmin Donath RC and Florian, Patrick, Thomas and Andreas always delivered insanely great and extremely exciting duels. For the spectators, gripping overtaking manoeuvres and duels over laps became a treat. Only when the vehicles came to the pit stop and driver change, this was over for a moment. The respective drivers came with visible fun from the driver's stand. With the onset of darkness, the lap time slowed down. By then, Simon had set a mark with a 16:745 in the 526th lap. With a comfortable lead of 21 laps, the car around Simon and Jasmin went to the ghost hour. With this, however, technical problems came, which the team had to solve in unscheduled stops. Thus, the lead shrank in twos to 2 laps up to one hour before the end of the race. In the last two stints, Jasmin and Simon drove a 9 lap lead to the finish line at 2 a.m. The GT3 with Kevin, Andreas, Torsten and Mirko fought and brought home the third place. A great team with a successful drive over 12 hours.
