"TOP 100" award ceremony in Mainz

TOP 100 mentor Ranga Yogeshwar congratulated WTO on being named a "TOP 100 Innovator". Dr. Wolfgang Zimmermann, Marketing Director of WTO, was represented by proxy at the official award ceremony.
The award ceremony took place during the German SME Summit, which was held in Mainz, Germany on Friday 27, June 2025. WTO is one of the top innovators for the second time. The science journalist, Ranga Yogeshwar, is accompanying the innovation competition, which is being held for the 32nd time, as a mentor.
In the scientific selection process, WTO impressed in particular in the size category C (=more than 200 employees) in the category “External Orientation/Open Innovation".

This award is only given to particularly innovative companies. The right innovation strategy and the innovative strength of a company are deciding for the success in the TOP 100.

Congratulations to WorldSkills on 75 years as !! 🥳

We are proud to have been a supplier at the 47th WorldSkills in Lyon in September 2024.

Over 1,500 young participants from all over the world competed in Lyon in 59 disciplines, including CNC turning and CNC milling. All the 14 high-precision universal CNC turning centers were equipped with precision tool holders from WTO.

WorldSkills has been held since 1950: A unique and inspiring performance comparison of non-academic professions.

Girls'Day 2025 at WTO!

As part of the German Girls' Day, we welcomed eight talented girls to our headquarters in Ohlsbach yesterday.

Girls'Day / Boys'Day gives girls an insight into traditional male professions and boys into traditional female professions.

After an exciting insight into our company, including a tour and a small breakfast afterwards, the girls were allowed to get started: Together with our apprentices, each of them built an apple peeling machine! 🍎⚙️🔧

Afterwards, they had a delicious lunch in the WTO Bistro and at the end, nameplates were laser-cut for the apple peeling machines.

All the girls did a really great job 👏 - It was a pleasure to have you here!

Our apprentices build an automated marble run with a robot 🤖 🚀

Last week, our apprentices Kurt and Arti (1st year) built and automated a marble run with a robot at the company headquarters in Ohlsbach. 🔧 It wasn't just about having fun, but also about getting to know the robot and laying important foundations for the large industrial robots in our Industry 4.0 hall.

With creativity, teamwork and a lot of enthusiasm for technology, the two of them put together an impressive automation project. 💡🔥

WTO USA is proud to announce the completion and opening of its new North American Headquarters in Charlotte, NC. The impressive 21,600 square foot, state-of-the art building includes modern offices, a fully equipped repair and service area, an extensive warehouse and a showroom to perfectly serve its growing customer base in North America.

To comply with our global corporate sustainability goals, solar panels were installed on the entire roof. The solar energy system generates around 250,000 kWh of electricity annually and more than 6.8 million kWh over its expected lifetime of 30 years. This corresponds to a saving of over 5,300 tons of carbon dioxide. WTO USA will therefore generate a large part of its electricity consumption.

WTO USA was founded in 1995 as WTO Inc. by Sascha Tschiggfrei. Since then, we have been serving the North American market directly on site with our factory owned sales & service center. Our customers benefit from competent after-sales support and a professional repair service provided by our own specialists. The new building provides the foundation for further expansion in the important North American market.

Review WTO barbecue 2024 ☀️

Our barbecue on July 19th 2024 was a complete success! 💯

There were delicious specialties from the grill and salad bar, which everyone enjoyed 🥗 as well as delicious ice cream for dessert 🍦. In the evening, the celebration continued in the WTO Bar, where the employees spent a few more great hours and had many interesting conversations.

A big thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to the next joint events!

WTO values such joint events. They offer the opportunity to talk to each other and strengthen the community. As the barbecue took place after WTO's International Sales & Product Meeting, the global WTO sales team was also present - so all employees from Ohlsbach, Europe, USA and Asia were able to exchange ideas with each other at the event.

The positive atmosphere and the good food helped to make this barbecue a complete success. ✨

Last week, the global WTO sales team met at the “International Sales & Product Meeting” at the WTO headquarters in Ohlsbach.

Each participant has taken part in intensive product trainings and technical workshops. The high level of technical expertise of our sales team members enables us to offer our global customers the best possible product support globally. 💪

WTO sets standard in terms of sustainability

WTO in Germany has been using renewable energies for its production for years.
In the US, we have just completed the installation of our 175 kW PV system on the rooftop of our new building.
The 12,300 square feet solar system will produce approximately 250,000 kWh of energy annually and approx. over 6.8 million kWh over its lifetime.
This is equivalent to offsetting over 5,300 tons of carbon dioxide according to the US EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies calculator!
